US Stocks post biggest post-election drop in history

and meanwhile, a COMMUNIST FLAG was waving at the Obama victory party.
I think we are in for big trouble.
Maybe Colin Powell is just keeping an eye on Obumbly's admin - ready for a
temporary military takeover of the government to stop us from
being ENSLAVED by communism.
marxism is just a conversion step to changing capitalism to communism, ya know.
This would make a great movie.
Big trouble. Shep's head is stuck there forever, methinks.

The market dropped for a million reasons, almost none of which included the election. The most significant factor was probably new estimates of Fridays lousy employment report. If people wanted to adjust prices lower because of Obama, then theyve done it already. Most estimates were that he had a 90-98% chance of winning. Whatever damage or benefit investors thought he would be to the economy was at least 90% priced in to the market already.
Also, if the market really hates Dems so much, then Obama's victory wouldve been offset by the fact that Dems probably didnt win 60 Senate seats.

Every single time we've had one of those giant spikes... it's been followed by a bad day. Been happening for about a month now. Very, very volatile. That said, I know big biz and Wall Street wanted preferential "trickle down" treatment from McCain. They'll get used to it. They certainly did under Clinton (!).
Like the economy responds in nanoseconds to Washington policy Shep. Clinton reaped the benefits of Reagonomics.
Yeah, now we'll try "trickle up" economics under Barak. We rob enough rich guys and give to the poor, the economy will take off like gangbusters when all them 'po folk rush out and buy plasma tvs courtesy of Uncle Sam.

Shep, pull your head out of your ass- the market tanked today because those with two functioning neurons realize Barak is bad for capatalism.
Sorry, it doesn't take 16 year for economic policy to take hold. To say something so ignorant shows your complete lack of knowledge on the subject of macroeconomics.
And, I don't care if they think Barack is bad for "capitalism" or not. It's funny they LIKE capitalism when they are making money but want a bailout (read: socialism) when they are going to lose their ass.
stop being a pawn of the rich.

He didnt say that it took 16 years to take hold, just that it was still reaping benefits. Do you disagree? If so, why?

In fact, the president's economic policies get way to much credit or blame for the economy. Their policies affect it some. But not as much as we think.
The FED has and always will take the same approach to soften or strengthen the economy as needed. They might not always take the steps at the right time (Greenspan) but they do the same thing.
The economy is more about fear and greed and investor's attitude than anything else.

Tupa did you just try to reason with Cal on market driven influences? I saw on another thread you asked that cal and his bunch to stop posting garbage threads so Bunker posted one immediately within that same post.
Its not worth dealing with the Palin element of your party Tupa.

That's funny. You advocate a totalitarian military takeover of our government because Obama won, all the while complaining about socialism. Good stuff. Loser.
