Not mad, sad. But hell, if the Giants canned the GM and HC after a good season and one bad, we can't say 1-15, followed by 0-12 isn't acceptable?

    1. It’s not

    2. That was sarcasm. Sashi has been a great drafter.

Actually most people didn't want Sashi fired including me.... Check the browns reddit, majority of them wanted to keep him and get rid of Hue, not the opposite.

Blaming the fans, who have put up with arguably one of the very worst past 20 years in sports history is just plain stupid. I know you had a hard-on for Sashi, but all along I was saying that it's Jimmy's ineptitude that would ultimately break your beloved "process". The biggest mistake that you made was putting your 100% trust that Jimmy Haslam would follow some plan he said he'd stick with. It wasn't "Sashi's process" because ultimately it's Jimmy running the show, and he made it "Jimmy's process".

I’d rather people get disinterested so we could actually get something done without the pressure of impatient fans.

& War, please get real. It's not like everything the Browns have done over the past couple of seasons is above criticism. There's this "Grand Process" Sahsi & the FO have in place that you non-Harvard educated schmucks are too stupid to understand.

That Devalve pick didn’t blow your hair back?

That was a “Sashi thinks he is smarter than the league” pick.

The 4th pick who’s shown a ton of promise in only his second year? Who for awhile outplayed a first rounder? Find a better argument.

Whether or not we agree with the firing of Sashi, it HAS happened & those of us who remain as Browns' Fans will deal with whatever happens in the future.

Personally (IMHO) regardless of won-lost record, this Browns' Team is in better shape , talent wise, than it was 2 years ago. That being said, we have sorely neglected offensive playmakers & that may well have been Sashi's demise. While none of us know what has really taken place within the organization, many questions may be answered by future actions/reactions.......

list all the excellent draft picks sashi has made.  Him not selecting certain players and then selecting certain players(coleman, peppers, kizer to name 3)is why he got fired.

  • This is the second time Watson has blown a knee out, and Brady doesn’t rely on his mobility the way Watson does. Brady has won a lot of games, if Watson does the same I’ll eat my words, but two blown out knees at this point in his career doesn’t look good.

Brady wins from the pocket, Watson doesn’t have the arm to win without keeping a defense off balance (havin one of the best receiving corps in the league doesn’t hurt either). If Watson tries to remove the running element of his game, he will get exposed.  If he doesn’t remove the running he’s gonna keep stacking up injuries.  I love the guys personality and leadership, but I don’t see a franchise QB for 10+ years.

Watson is exactly rg3, or have you forgotten how electric rg3 was in 2012?  Dude will get figured out by the nfl, then get blown up again (and again). I’m glad for the Texans fans who believe they found the answer, but I wouldn’t want To have to constantly worry about my QB blowing his knee out by sneezing.

Unfortunately you can't get passed the color of a man skin because if you could then you would realize their careers and talent aren't even comparable

You’re right, RG3 had much better arm talent...

What other injuries has Watson had? He played 2 - 15 game full seasons at Clemson before being drafted. 8 games as a freshman. https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/deshaun-watson-1.html#all_3421245544

Brady blew his knee out too about 9 years ago. I guess he better not sneeze.

Deshaun Watson suffered both injuries in knees in practice. Last one was with no contact.

Tom Brady suffered his knee injury when he was way older than Deshaun Watson currently is and it was in a contact play during a game.

He's not getting younger, so if his guy gets injured next season, I hope you all quit saying that Sashi made a mistake not drafting him

He's the type of dude who fails to even explore the possibility that he could ever be wrong. Saying that Sashi is a great drafter is like your uncle saying he picks up a lot of hot babes, and then you come across evidence that those in fact "hot babes" actually look like Malaysian Water Buffalos, and your crazy uncle has been bullshitting all along.

But Sashi wiffed bad on Watson.

Just because Watson got his RG3 on for a few games before he blew his knee up going against air doesn’t mean the Browns should’ve drafted him...

    Fair comment.

People did call him RG IV before the draft.

You never know....that could be prophetic.

  • The Joe Haden thing killed Sashi. Haden was close to Joe Thomas in fan support.

Not even close.   It was likely the McCarron trade botch that lost Sashi his job.

  • Dunno if its been said...

out lack of patience is disturbing

i would have liked to see where moneyball took us.

the draft maneuvering... stickpiled picks... cap space.  It had potential to be epic if it went to conclusion.

hue needs a coordinator...sashi should have stayed.  Imho.

    Jimmy is the problem.

  • While I shed no tears for Sashi Brown getting fired today, if he did indeed sabotage the McCarron for a 2nd and 3rd rounder trade, he should have a statue built in his honor in front of the Browns stadium.

Agree... but if Jimmah ordered Sashi to make the McCarron deal over the objections of the FO, then his better route would have been to resign.

I knew Hue and Sashi couldn't co-exist mid season the way Hue was acting. It just makes me think Hue is more and more of a snake. Going behind the FO's office and begging for players, Letting his coaches or assistants leak things to the press.... For what they were doing to work, the FO and coach had to see eye-to-eye. Hue didn't see eye-to-eye with Sashi and company and ended up winning the power struggle battle by getting on the good side of Jimmy. Hue's McCarron trade against the FO, and then meeting McCarron in the end zone with Jimmy troubled me. Having all of the players meet and talk to Hue and Jimmy troubled me too. Hue essentially plotted a Browns takeover.

I was hoping you and war were right and we started winning next year. I know I bitched about Sheet after seeing loss after loss after loss, but most of us were breaking and I didn't quite trust Jimmy. I don't think Sashi was as great as people gave him credit for, or nearly as bad as other people gave him credit for. In the end, he got screwed, but did a great job of saving cap space, getting picks, and setting us up to build. Hopefully this Dorsey guy can do something right. I think Depo will resign this upcoming year.

However, I think Hue will hinder our progress. The dude is way too egotistical, and with all of his clock management, playcalling, and other mistakes, I can't see us winning a superbowl with him. I'd be happy if we got a coach with some fire next year and got off the Hue train. The only downside is players hate switching systems every year, and Hue would bring continuity.

Jimmy seems #allinonhue, but we'll see what happens.

Hue Jackson more comfortable with a football guy on personnel side

  • Hue Jackson more comfortable with a football guy on personnel side.

Well.....the question is whether or not that "football guy" is comfortable with the way Hue has coached this team.

I am not comfortable with it.    Glaring, obvious, elementary errors.  Total confusion.   If we can see that,  How can a football guy not see that that is what has happened a lot with Hue on the sidelines.

Better for who?  Him maybe, not for us.  If he had left instead of sabotaging the deal, then WE or, i.e. the Browns, would have been left making an absolute piss poor deal.  Tis a far far better thing that he had done than he had ever done before.

We still might be right.... 😉 Seriously, the way the hand has been dealt, it's going to be pretty hard to phuck it up at this point.... and I've yet to see anything that says Dorsey is a phuck up.

So Sashi was only a lil great.... got it... he just set us on a great path.

Hue's campaign to oust Sashi, and I do not think it can be characterized as anything else at this point, was a campaign to gain influence over player selection. Of course he wants argue with "a football guy"... anyone armed only with anecdotal observations will be frustrated by disagreement with conclusions distilled from volumes of data.

But a disagreement with another collection of anecdotal observations? Then there's a chance.
