  • His stock likely to drop.....maybe Browns can get him in late 2d round.   Or top of 3rd.

Is he strictly OC...or can he do the guard positions?

Backup OGs are a need for Browns, imo.

He can do both Gip, but he's projected as a center in the NFL. Let's hope it isn't something serious.

And after all of those games without a miss at OSU. Hopefully not serious.

  • I'm not sure that the Browns are allowed to draft Ohio State players anymore.

    Oh, yea.  Forgot.

  • Billy Price downplayed his injury - said it was a minor pec tear - will be ready by training camp.

Yeah "minor" pec tear or as we'd put it........AAAAARRRRGGGGHHH, that hurts! Well with the BROWNS picks he might be very available.

Minor pec tear?  Is there such a thing?  Didn't we have a guy that had that that was out for like a year and half?

  • Saw it on the news - he was 3 or 4 reps in his bench press, and grabbed his upper arm/shoulder, and got up and went to the

tent. That's too bad.. I hope it isn't anything serious. (btw, the OG from Notre Dame did a record 35 reps)

I was hoping the runs on QBs and other positions would push this kid back to us near the top of round 2.  The injury just might do it; and I don't think it will be the type of injury that will end his rookie season or possibly even cut it short.  That said, I'm not a doctor so I could be wrong.  He had a really close grip so my guess is it's more shoulder injury than say a torn pec type of season ending injury.

I LOVE this kid's motor. He hustles, keeps his leverage/pad height and plays til the echo of the whistle. He wasn't a Captain by accident.  He could play Guard or Center, which could come in handy especially if we have to move Bitonio out to the position he played well in college (Left Tackle).  We also have to keep in mind Bitonio got hurt in back to back seasons while the FA Center we signed in 2017 was on IR in 2016 with a blown out knee fwiw....

"Minor" peck tear for an OL is about the same as a "minor" achilles tear for a RB or WR. Not good.

INDIANAPOLIS (92.3 The Fan) – Ohio State center Billy Price saw his football career flash before his eyes Thursday when he injured himself on the third rep of his bench press.

Friday he was able to breathe a sigh of relief.

“Looking at the MRI results, we were able to see a little bit of an issue, nothing that’s going to force me to miss time at all,” Price said. “I’ll be fine for the season going forward, and I should be fine going into training camp.”

Price, an Austintown, Ohio native, confirmed that he suffered an “incomplete” tear of a pectoral muscle.

“I’m not worried about this at all. This is something where I’m gonna come back stronger,” Price said. “You’re gonna really have to put a bullet between us Ohio State guys’ eyes to put us down. So I’m looking to get back out there and whatever team ends up selecting me, we’re going to be 100 percent going into it.”

Price is hopeful that he will not require surgery after the MRI revealed the partial tear.

Players who suffer injuries at the combine are usually excused from media obligations but Price spoke at the podium Friday morning before doing another interview with Sirius/XM NFL radio.

Very versatile player. Started 55 games in his career. Was first team all american at guard junior year (2016) and Remington award winner for best center as well as first team all american senior year (2017).

  • MARCH 6, 2018 UPDATE

Former Ohio State center Billy Price, who is considered a potential 2018 first-round draft pick, underwent surgery on a partially torn pectoral muscle and is expected to miss four months.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the news Tuesday.

    Adam Schefter@AdamSchefter
Ohio St. center and potential first-round pick Billy Price underwent successful surgery on his “incomplete pec tear” today, per source. Price is expected to be sidelined four months but should be ready for the start of training camp.

Price suffered the injury during the bench press at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis last Thursday.

"Getting ready for the bench press, I got into my warm-up set, had no problem, no issues," Price said, per Rebecca Toback of SB Nation's Cincy Jungle. "Got the first rep off, got to the third, thought I was still doing well, felt a pop. Immediately racked it. Something didn't feel right.

"I've been lifting since I was in the fifth grade. I'm familiar with my body, and I try to be very aware of what's going on. I didn’t feel something right. I grabbed it. Felt a little bit of swelling a little bit of a pop or a tingle."

Price was a unanimous All-American, won the Rimington Trophy and was named the Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2017. Bleacher Report's Matt Miller projected him to go to the Atlanta Falcons at No. 26 overall as a guard in his latest mock draft.

Price began his collegiate career at guard before moving to center. His versatility among interior offensive line positions makes him among the most attractive offensive linemen in this class, though his injury might drop him into the second day.

  • Would be nice to get him with that 2nd or 3rd second rounder. Crossing of the fingers.

Nice eventual replacement for Tretter. Reminds me a little of Alex Mack.
