What picks do we have now?

The Browns Board

  • We went into Friday with 12 picks.  We traded some, swapped some, what do we have now for picks?    (we knew that we couldn't draft 12 more rookies onto our youngest roster in the NFL)

  • Top five picks still intact, and thats good news (2 first rounders and 3 second rounders).

IIRC, we traded #65 (pick 1 in 3rd round) for Tyrod Taylor and 4th round for Landry. Next year we lose a 7 rd pick to the Fins, too.

    So we keep 10 picks.

I don't know which 4th rd pick we lose and which one we swap with GB, but we pick #1 and GB #14, so if in both cases we swap OUR pick, we lose 13 spots in 4th and 5th round.

EDIT: We had #97 and #119 (from CAR) on 4th round, and GB #110, so I guess we send #119 to MIA, and swap #97 to GB, ending up with only #110. I've confirmed in 5th we lose 13 spots.

The thing I like the most is that these trades achieve two things:

    1. We become more atractive to coming free agents.

    2. We lose some draft picks, but not draft "power" as we still have our first 5 picks. As you said, we have an already young roster and adding 12 rookies might be too much (quantity wise).

    Well said.

And I think we still have enough draft pick 'power' to do more in the here and now, and/or in the draft.

  • #1//#4//#33//#35//#64//(#65 gave to Bills Tyrod)//to 4th round--(Pick #101 goes to GB we gain #114)//(pick #123 Gone Jarvis Landry)//to 5th round--(Pick #138 goes to GB we gain pick #150)//we still own #159 a 5th//a 6th #175//a 7th #219....We also traded a 7th round pick in 2019 for Jarvis Landry to Miami..but who's really counting 🙂.so we started with 12 & still sit with 10 picks. maybe 1 more trade in the works per 1 reporter? than On to Wednesday

  • 3rd round and beyond draft picks for 3 proven players I’ll take that anytime.

  • If the BROWNS got any younger they'd be a J-V team. 😆
