  • ...mean we'd pass on Christian Kirk if he's sitting there say the top of round two?

I really like Kirk as a player

  • I think it would show great enterprise if we nabbed Kirk... I am sure he would energize those around him.... sorry just my warped mind going into overdrive ....... beam me up Scotty

Take him.Plays inside or outside. Hope Gordon wants to play football.Put Cory Coleman on trade deadline list & move on from another 1st round missed evaluation to Pro level..

  • Absolutely you take him. Coleman is made of glass.

  • yep. You take him because he seems to be uncoverable and he's tough.

    He's a ***football player***.

Every single one of his targets last year came when he was lined up in the slot or if he was moving in the backfield.

That to me suggests he can’t play outside?

That is on the head of the now departed idiot. It isn't for lack of speed or catching ability. Even in the slot I lost track of how many times a game the awful QB could not hit him long when he got wide open.

  • Yup.. You nab him.. CoCo ain't gettin it done...

  • Low interest in Kirk here... sorry. It was low pre-Combine and dropped from there. Just did not test well... speed was fine, but a 5'10 guy that can't leap over 3'? Add that his 20-yd shuttle and 3-cone were substandard and I pass.

In the same area of the draft... late 1st/early 2nd... will also be the DJs... Moore and Chark. Moore actually has a shot at being the 1st WR off the board.

Chark? Now my #1 value at WR... thin as a rail, but can still grow. Fastest 40 at the Combine... 6'3 and posted a 40+" vert... Kid reminds me of AJ Green.

The wrs that looked good at Sr bowl were Chark... And Tre'Quan Smith.

  • I think Chark is going to be the better pro than he was in college...

wouldn't be surprised if they drafted two wr's in the second round.

Agree... especially since he's likely going to have a QB worth a damn in the Pros... Have I mentioned recently how long it's been since LSU had a decent QB?

What got me at the Combine was the sound when Chark caught balls running the Gauntlet. In place of the normal **SMACK** was a **thud** at least half the time. Might not have been the only one whose hands sounded soft, but he was the only one I noticed.

  • Christian Kirk tough. Lol. Are we talking about the same guy?

  • No, who are YOU talkin about?

    Overview

One of the top receivers in his recruiting class, Kirk decided to roll with Texas A&M over home-state Arizona State, and many others. He accounted for over 3,000 all-purpose yards and 40 touchdowns on offense (he had two on interceptions and two on returns as well) as a senior. It didn't take him long to make an impact on campus, as he led the Aggies with 80 receptions, 1,009 receiving yards, and eight total touchdowns, as well as being their top returner (385 kickoff return yards, 24.4 average on punt returns, two touchdowns). Kirk's combination of a sturdy running back frame, excellent open-field agility, and toughness with the ball in his hands made him a 2016 third-team Associated Press All-American and three-way first-team All-SEC (all-purpose, receiver, return specialist). He started 12 of 13 games as a sophomore, leading the SEC with 83 receptions for 928 yards and nine scores (along with eight rushes for 35 yards). Kirk also led the FBS with three punt return touchdowns (21.7-yard average) on the year. He earned second-team All-SEC honors in 2017, starting all 13 games and leading the Aggies with 71 receptions for 919 yards and 10 touchdowns (including 13 receptions, 189 yards, 3 TD vs Wake Forest in the Belk Bowl). Kirk also received first-team All-American notice by returning eight punts for 175 yards and one touchdown, as well as 21 kickoffs for 480 yards and a score.

    Strengths

Well built with good overall strength in upper and lower body. Takes optimal release angles against press. Adjusts in space to avoid redirects and contact. Plays with consistent tempo and good suddenness. Quick in and out of breaks with sharp turns. Impressive on whip routes. Scouts like his mental makeup and desire to compete. Able to dip and scoop the low throws. Plays with strong, natural hands as pass-catcher. Sinks into space against zone and does a good job of protecting the catch. Decisive and competitive once ball in his hands. Offers both kick and punt return value.

    Bottom Line

Kirk is a well-built, mentally tough slot target whose game is built around pace more than explosiveness. His lack of speed and length make him less likely to impact games down the field, but his footwork, route tempo and hands should give him an opportunity to find catches underneath. Kirk's ability to help in the return game is a plus, but the difference between average and good as a receiver could depend on finding the right fit.

  • The addition of Landry may not make Kirks a option? but I let my finger do the walking to this...Kirks is 1 inch smaller than Landry at 5'10". 5lbs.lighter than Landry at 200 lbs. Kirks rocked the gauntlet.Kirks Ran a 4.47 40 verse Landry at 4.61. Kirks is stronger than most WR's pushing bar 20 times verse Landry at 12.Landry's vertical was 31.5" where Kirks was bad at 35.5"? Kirks 3 cone yes over 7 at 7.09 but Landry's was 7.56. Even Kirks broad jump was 2" longer at 115"..Kirks, like most.. does need help on his running route tree..while Cory Coleman still sits on this roster..Kirks could pack Cory's Bags..instead of carrying them..

No , I can't take credit for that.. I have seen it before used in context with his name.. It just seemed fitting , speedy and convenient.
