  • Cal, at least you are, if nothing else, entertaining. The fact that a 60+ year old man can use the phrase "lolbogus" seriously while trying to prove his point tickles my funny bone

Of course not, but it's a little disconcerting that a man like Arthur Jones would a) run unopposed as the Republican candidate without the county or Illinois GOP providing and alternate candidate, and b.) Still get 20k votes in support.

But, this is what Regressive leftism has brought us to. After calling people Nazis and racists for so long over nothing, people don't bat an eyelash when an actual nazi pokes his head into the public arena. That's just the state of things today, I suppose.

  • It's just the primary. He's not going to win

Absolutely true. You remember what happened to the boy who cried wolf?

well, there are reasons to suspect nonsense. If no one ran against him, it would be because it is a very heavily

democratic environment and no rep could win. and, crossing the lines was one of the democratic tricks, where applicable.

  • Well only a NAZI would be dumb enough to campaign in that area.  Why waste the resources?  A democrat could eat a human embryo on TV and win that district.

My, my...and ThinkProgress just couldn't resist could they jb ?  They just had to compare him to Trump in their article.

,” his campaign platform mirrors President Trump’s agenda. Jones’ campaign website promises to “put America first” with border protections, the elimination of “Sanctuary Cities”, no “amnesty for illegal aliens,” gun rights, and a repeal of the Affordable Care Act.

To play WSS' the devil's advocate part here, what part of that statement isn't technically true? Those were all planks in Trump's platform.

Yes JB we know. Actually we've had actual communist and socialist run for president of the United States. While I don't agree with them I don't think that Gus Hall had a hand, or even supported, in killing millions of people in the former Soviet Union. Do you?

I believe that you seem to be rebutting your own point that you were attempting to make there. Just because a person didn't live or participate in the time when a certain ideology was at its zenith,  that doesn't disqualify them from proclaiming themselves as being such, nor espousing the more repulsive ideals such ideology represents. I'd be making a safe call in saying that, as an American, you believe in democracy or small "R" republicanism, but I wouldn't discount your belief in the ideals those systems produce just because you were not alive to fight on the side of the colonists at Bunker Hill in 1775...

Actually I was saying that I at least attempt to vote on the basis of political issues. I don't know if you do or not but oh, and I'm just guessing, among issues you favor are rolling back Trump's tax cuts a path to citizenship for the dreamers strengthening civil rights laws and Universal Health Care. Just for the sake of discussion. There are two candidates a Republican who opposes all these and a Democrat who is also a communist.

Do you vote for the Republican because of the Communists actions during World War II and beyond?

    WSS

  • And sure it's embarrassing if you are a party stalwart but no more than it should be if you were a Democrat and supported black candidates with ties to BLM or the Nation of Islam or the Panthers.

You obviously missed the point, I'm not questioning validity of the platforms of both men.

You said..."...After calling people Nazis and racists for so long over nothing"...this after posting an article which does exactly that by implicating Trump.

Because this Jones Nazi  and Trump are both advocates of border security doesn't make Trump a Nazi, as clearly implied by this article.

There was no need for the author to include Trump in this piece.  Got it?
