The BROWNS had their opportunity early if they really wanted Mayfield and Ward, could have done a two or three team deal and picked up an extra R1 pick and maybe high R2 picks for the #1 and #4 and swapped for high R1 picks.
A bit daring but doable, but they must be happy as is.

Oh it may work just fine, Mayfield will be a good backup until ready and Ward fills a need spot just not #1 and 4 talent......long time to go yet on that. The QB Draft of 2018 results won't be finalized for awhile.

And who knows, perhaps Mayfield may prove to be the best QB after all. And who's to say Ward won't be better than Lattimore. But the 3 2s will be important. Carlos Hyde is getting a little old, so we need an RB. Obviously an OT and a LB.

Should the BROWNS already knowing they wanted BM at #1 and Ward #4 have restructured the R1 picks to get more or better positioned picks?
Easily could have gotten another R1 or at least additional R2 picks..
