  • Now that the draft is complete,   here are the  First round picks of the Browns by School...since 1950: 

    6  Michigan

    4 Ohio State....including Denzel Ward this year

    4 USC

    3 Alabama

    3 Florida

    3 Texas A&M

    The Browns have taken 2 players in round one from each of these schools:

    Baylor.....Duke...Florida St....Houston U....Illinois...Kentucky...LSU

    Miami Fla (but not including Kosar from the Supp draft)....  Notre Dame....Oklahoma St....Purdue....Stanford....Tennesse....Texas...UCLA

    and now Oklahoma with  Mayfield

    The Browns have taken One player in round one from each of these school:

    Some good:  Darden,  Steve Everett.  

    One...too soon to tell....Peppers

    A couple....shown the door in a sense:  Ron Johnson RB traded before he ever did anything.  Derrick Alexander....here like one year...and left with Modell to Baltimore.

    Then there was Braylon:  seemed to be great at first...then a waste.

    And...of course, naturally, we ave to compare the OSU guys:

    Warfield...the only HOFer of the bunch.

    Jim Houston...arguably the best LB the Browns have ever had   (he and Clay Matthews).  On par with Darden for overall quality.

    Craig Powell...  probably the worst of the bunch...but fortunately he too went to B-more after one bad year.

    Now:  Denzel Ward.     Well...lets hope that he and Peppers make an OSU/UM Dynamic Duo.
