It's not hard to join, don't understand why you can't do it. You just need the id and password.

That should do it to join a private group.

Go to https://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/pickem
Click Join Group
On the right side it says private group, fill in "7064" as Group ID and "beer" as password.
