how good did myles look against the eagles 1's?

  • i mean its kind of eye opening how big the talent gap between our left and right sides are. Myles was depositing that tackle in Foles general dik area everytime he turned into him. The power game we're seeing now from myles is kind of alarming, kid looks to have made major imorovements to his game in one offseason.

i know some texas fanboys will say it was all due to that ankle last year but i aint buyin it. Ofc thats a part of it but he honestly had some tech issues last year that came with him from college. Those are gone.

Even his run D looks elite. Those kind of offseason improvements didnt come cause he's just a gifted athlete and he sat at home playing xbox. He must have worked his fukking butt off cause he looks bigger and stronger with no speed loss.

We lijely need to draft either bosa or someone else with that work ethic next year cause all the other DE's on our team that have been here for years now are essentially still the same players we drafted.

  • I've never seen anything like it. Thank God he touched Foles in the end zone or I would've blown a gasket. Nobody else was close...and the QB freaking fell DOWN.

Two sacks, one safety, three tackles, two for loss. And two QB hits. In one half.

  • Jason Peters didn't play at LT, right? It looks promising anyway.

Last year he was the best defensive player when he was on the field.

  • There is tons of DL talent in this draft. Let's not go all in on Bosa already

  • Love Bosa, but he's not going to be a need.  What the left side needs is an every down end.   But for the moment, Ogbah, Nassib and Avery appear to be an ok rotation.

  • I'd say Hue made the right move sliding Joel Bitonio over in front of Animal Garrett..Both are really playing well..

  • Let's not forget that Ogbah was very quick as well.  He might not have gotten to the QB, but did make their O hurry a bit.  Our ends are set.  We need more corners.

  • 72 has to quit the game after this blast from MG. There was one long pass play against us where 4 different Philly players took shots at Myles to keep him off the QB. When that happens the rest of the D has to step up. Most of the night they did which is why we caused 4 turnovers and a safety.

  • Oh yeah FWIW Cleveland  did pitch a 5-0 shutout......and Kluber wasn't even pitching. 😆

Preseason yes but still a bit gratifying.

  • It's important to mention that while Jason Peters wasn't there, the back-up was the guy who filled in for the majority of last year. The tackle of the line many consider one of, if not the best in football. With that in mind, Mr. Garrett absolutely dominated. On the strip by Avery (which was also very nice), it was Myles who collapsed the pocket to give Avery the chance to strip Foles too.

    Absolute madman.

  • It was against a backup, but it was against a quality backup that played a ton of pretty good ball.  I think Ogbah played better than people think, and while he doesn't have the insane power and burst that Myles has, he's still getting in there.  Could he be better?  Yep, and it'd be nice to have two dominant edge rushers, but not many teams have those, and we instead opted for Denzel Ward at CB, and that picked appears to be very solid, but the back injury he sustained has me scared to death.  My best guess is that it's only a muscle issue, but anybody with a back injury knows that even a damaged muscle is extremely painful, and not going away anytime soon.

  • I can recall one play where I saw a TE chip, a RB chip on a delay release and then Myles engaging the tackle.

That's how you win schematically, friends.  Fewer fast threats attacking the pattern off the snap, more time to push the pocket and win across the line, makes life easier on the backers and safeties.

First team defense looked very encouraging.  Just need to get Denzel healthy.

  • vaitai played all last season on wut was rated the best o line in football.

im not, yet.....but if the left side stays as is we'll need that addressed. Im in no mood to see teams double and triple team myles all season long and no one on the left side making them pay for that.

im sensing theres a michigan prospect on ur mind

It won't matter.  Hopefully the Browns will not be in position to draft Bosa....who will likely go in Top 3, if he comes out.   Nothing says he has to come out, though he probably will.

But if they do have a high pick, they could look at other defenders, like Oliver of Houston, Ferrell of Clemson, Dexter Lawrence of Clemson, and even Bosa's teammate Dre"mont Jones, or Raekwon Davis of Alabama.   Alabama also has the top OT, Jonah William....which may prove to be an area of need.  And there may be a couple of WRs, AJ Brown and Anthony Johnson. And you never know, they may want to go cornerback again.

  • Early in the game l thought Myles was getting handled pretty well by the OL. As the half wore on it was him wearing them down and not the other way around.

  • He definitely didn’t have that bull rush move before. He pretty well underperformed at A&M outside of his freshman year. Looks like he’s now becoming the player his talent says he oughta be. Really exciting!

He needs to have a HOF career to make up for that other POS you sent us.  And Ratley needs to have a few Pro Bowl years.

Bro I startled my dog half to death I yelled so loud at the TV when foles went down in the end zone.  Thank God Garrett touched him

I agree, "Fail for Cardale" was premature to say the least. Let's be optimistic for a change, and hope the Brown's record is good enough Bosa will be long off the board before the we draft. If the early reports are correct and it's a deep OT class, may be the direction we go, and slide Bitonio back to LG.
