Cardale's quarterbacking career:
Buffalo BillsEdit
Despite only starting 11 games in his college career, Jones was drafted in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, with the 139th overall selection, by the Buffalo Bills. On June 7, 2016, the Bills signed Jones to a rookie contract. In 2016, he was inactive for the first 15 games of the season as the third-string quarterback behind primary backup EJ Manuel and starter Tyrod Taylor.[33] With Taylor being inactive for the final game of the season against the New York Jets, Jones was promoted to second string. Jones entered the game to begin the fourth quarter after Manuel was benched. Jones completed 6-of-11 passes for 96 yards and no touchdowns with one interception.[34][33]
Los Angeles ChargersEdit
On July 26, 2017, Jones was traded to the Los Angeles Chargers in exchange for a conditional draft pick.[35]

There is tons of DL talent in this draft. Let's not go all in on Bosa already
I agree, "Fail for Cardale" was premature to say the least. Let's be optimistic for a change, and hope the Brown's record is good enough Bosa will be long off the board before the we draft. If the early reports are correct and it's a deep OT class, may be the direction we go, and slide Bitonio back to LG.

There was a way too early mock draft in last week's Sports Illustrated. 8 of the top 10 picks were DLine or OTs.
I know DT isn't a huge need, but Houston's Ed Oliver on the same DLine as Myles Garrett? That wouldn't suck. The guy is another Aaron Donald.

Early in the game l thought Myles was getting handled pretty well by the OL. As the half wore on it was him wearing them down and not the other way around.

huh? he was within arms reach of foles from the eagles very first offensive drive. He was all over vaitai. By the end of thr first quarter vaitai had had enough of #95

They better start calling holding on opposing offensive lineman like they call it against ours.
He's gonna get held a lot. I think he looked pretty damn good. He'll likely keep improving when he improves his technique, and he's a game changer out there. Maybe there was a reason he was the consensus #1 pick by everyone.

Jason Peters didn't play at LT, right? It looks promising anyway.
Last year he was the best defensive player when he was on the field.

It's important to mention that while Jason Peters wasn't there, the back-up was the guy who filled in for the majority of last year. The tackle of the line many consider one of, if not the best in football. With that in mind, Mr. Garrett absolutely dominated. On the strip by Avery (which was also very nice), it was Myles who collapsed the pocket to give Avery the chance to strip Foles too.
Absolute madman.
I too like what I see MG doing. He's added strength and moves, but....
Peters was out and his 2017 fill-in is playing badly this preseason, so I'm not going to get too optimistic. Still need someone to step up and supply pressure from the left side. Could be Avery, but not while he's "in the tub."

I found it interesting that Myles applied exactly what Willie McGinist was teaching him about using his hands/arms to keep the OL hands off of him and then make the move. That's exactly what he did on that sack. Jammed him backwards with a shot to the chest with both hands and then used the right to throw him sideways and then the left to toss him aside as he went by. He's paying attention when the HOF players talk to him. Those guys sure see the potential for greatness, which is why they offer their tips to him.

Agree... but on the one bull rush that was replayed MG also lowered his head. Fortunately no contact/ no foul was in effect.
-
Whatever happened to the real Cardale?
He is losing the Chargers backup job to Geno Smith.

Jokes aside, he's still on the Charger's roster. Even got in a few preseason games this year. Never going to beat out Rivers though.

Eagles know Peters is the #2 tackle on their roster.. they intentionally keep lane johnson at RT rather than LT. In NFC more of the sack players sit across from RT.
Ogbah was #1 in the league against the run last season.. that's not small, and i hope he was able to work on his moves this offseason.

I believe they have a lot of faith in Ogbah which is part of the reason not to draft chubb

when ol and dl lock up thats not gonna get called.
I'll bet we see one this season. OL and DL are not exempt from the rule.

1) wherever u read ogbah was #1 in the league against the run, u need to stop reading there. They are clearly droppibg acid.
2) Ogbah wasnt even the best run stopping DE on the browns last year....tgat was nassib. From what ive seen in preseasin Nassib is still better setting and holding the edge than ogbah. Only garrett looks to have improved his edge defense. We'll see when the real games begin.
3) just rewatch the eagles game. Watch a couple of the runs that broke to ogbahs side....you'll see #90 with his pads turned to the right towards the other sideline. He's done, OL won.
Fir the last 2 years runs toward our LDE when ogbahs playing, break off tackle...which means to the right of the RT's shoulder. Thats a collapse of the left edge. When nassib is in runs usually have to break between guard and tackle because more often than not nassib has read the potential run play correctly and fought his way upfield into the lane with arms extended. So if tge run does break inside its because lb'er pursuit didbt get there.
just quick eye tests in preseason tell me garrett has this technique down now as well. Ogbah, saw his pads turned the same way ive been seeing em now going on 3 years.
and neither him nor nassib are showing me fuk all more in their power edge rush. I tjink the main reason we didnt draft chubb is because theres too much DE talent coming available this draft including a kid with the last name of bosa.

EXACTLY! Unless I'm not drinking enough beer on Sunday... Gregg Williams was really pumped about Ogbah this off season because of how much he improved last year.

Avery #55 has looked great thus far as well. I think between him and Miles Garrett there are going to be a lot of opposing QB's on their back's this year.

While Nassib was having trouble lining up onside twice against the Bears - here's another positive plug about Ogbah beside PFF's elite ranking of him against the run (which agreed with that of Gregg Williams).
"...Ogbah is having a season similar to Clowney's 2016 campaign. ... no one has made more tackles at or behind LOS against (run) this year."
Clevs, what do you know that all these people are totally incapable of?
