  • Thread prompted by comments elsewhere.  Four entities since then have named "All Pro" teams (differentiate from making the Pro Bowl).  These are the Associated Press "AP", the Football Writers "FW", Pro Football Focus "PFF" and The Sporting News  "SN".  They do first and second teams.   Here are the Browns that have made these lists in the last 10 years

    2017 Joel Bitonio  PFF 2d team

    2016 Joe Thomas  FW  1st team

    2015  Joe Thomas AP/FW/PFF/SN  1st team......Mitchell Schwartz  PFF 2d team

    2014 Joe Thomas AP/FW 1st team....Joel Bitonio PFF 1st team.....Jordan Poyer  PFF 1st team (special teams)

    2013 Joe Thomas AP/PFF/FW/SN   1st team......Josh Gordon AP/FW/SN  1st team.....Alex Mack  SN 1st team, PFF 2d team.....Joe Haden SN  1st team AP 2d team....TJ Ward AP 2d team

    2012 Joe Thomas SN 1st team, AP 2nd team.....Phil Dawson SN 1st team, AP/PFF 2nd team.....Johnson Bademosi PFF 2d team (special teams)

    2011 Joe Thomas AP/FW 1st team

    2010 Joe Thomas AP/FW/SN  1st team.....TJ Ward  PFF 2d team (special teams)

    2009:  Joe Thomas AP/FW/SN 1st team SN 2d team......Josh Cribbs  AP/FW/PFF  1st team  SN 2d team (KR)

    2008  Joe Thomas AP 2d team

    In 2007, JT was a rookie, and did not make any of these teams (needed that year to get respect), but here is who made it in 2007...Browns last winning season:

    Phil Dawson AP 2d team....Josh Cribbs  SN 1st team, AP 2d team.....Braylon Edwards SN 1st team, AP 2d team.

  • Now with JT gone, only Bito and Gordon remain as players who appeared on these lists.  Bito now moved to LT, and Gordon coming out of 3 years of BS.

    So...any predictions on Browns All Pros this year?

    While he has made the Pro Bowl three years running, he has never made the AP first team All Pro, per my view on PFR.  Not sure about 2d team or the other services,  PFF/SN/FW.

    Joe Thomas will make the Pro Bowl in 2018. I guarantee it.

    Look, the bastard had no measurable impact on the Browns offense during his entire career. So, the Pro Bowl nominations clearly mean nothing. Joe Thomas was total schidt. WHy not another Pro Bowl?
