Yeah 7 receptions for 100+ yards distinctly doesn't suck in my book. In fact- he's a terrific addition.

this may come as a shock to you, but I dont document every thought I have on the browns or their players in this forum.  Nor do I keep track of where each thought I've had on these matters

is cataloged.  Your degree of grandiosity and delusional thought content in this thread is impressive even for you though

Wait....are you talking to yourself? That is all that would make sense.mirror.jpg

  • AFTER FURTHER REVIEW...

Sorry I went off on you Taco... uncalled for. If I disagree with the substance of your post(s) in the future, I'll deal with the substance and the substance only.

  • If a tie as 3 pt underdogs when you are 1-31 can seem like a bad result....well this was an example of such.

A FIVE TURNOVER EDGE......wtf is the record of nfl teams with a five turnover edge?  Gotta be 90% right?

And these werent relatively benign turnovers.  Hell one was essentially a td return.

Maybe the weather was part of the reason for the offense sucking, but c'mon......tyrod looked like complete trash.

Our supposedly good wide recieving corps?  Ummmm....well landry showed up I guess sort of.  The rest looked like crap.

After today Im just really worried about our offense.....another Sheet performance like that and sure...bring on the rookie.

Hyde looked like he had weights in his shoes.

Offensive line whipped play after play.

After pitt got up 21-7, defense played really well....but wonder how much of this was just ben and the weather....

can we stop sending peppers sorry butt out their for punt returns as well?

If we cant win a game where we have a5 turnover edge????  3-12-1 here we come......

Beauty school dropout, you're the last person on this board that should use "we" and "our" when referring to this team.

Gotta love the way you excuse Roethlisberger's endless turnovers to weather but the QB that only had 1 turnover was the one worth calling trash.  The first time Antonio Brown broke free over the middle - Roethlisberger threw a grounder before he threw 3 INTs and fumbled the ball to us. Everybody knows Taylor's day wasn't pretty.  Ben's turnovers are the reason his team didn't win.  Taylor's lack of turnovers that put Buffalo in the playoffs are the reason he's here until the 1st overall pick at QB is ready.  Buffalo just lost 47-3 without Taylor so we can see how much they improved without your version of "trash."

The goal of a QB that doesn't turn the ball over is to have his team in position to win the game at the end. In this case, after he helped us erase a 14 point deficit in the 4th quarter - he helped get us into FG position for the chance to win the game in OT.  A 42 yard FG was blocked.  Are you really the only knucklehead on this board that thinks that's Taylor's fault?  Go figure! Last year we LOST games like this when we hurried an inexperienced QB into starting before he was ready and he turned the ball over.

We drafted a QB 1st overall so this will play out like it did when Kosar took over for Danielson in 1985. The veteran started the 1st 5 or 6 weeks before Kosar replaced him.  Aside from being a cerebral QB and accurate QB with a college National Championship under his belt - Kosar had an extended streak of games/passes without an INT when we turned this team around.  We should be happy we have a situation similar to 85.   And here you are whining like sorority girl on the rag like you've done all off season crying about every move we made - inclusive of your colicky thesis why Jarvis Landry sucks.

Didya see the MNF preview? They honored Connor with a "Come on man!!" award for that hairdo. And I have to agree, to my mind, that's as bad as seeing a woman with her hair dyed turquoise.

I have said this since his first preseason game. I never thought a HC could be worse than Donuts Crennell, but we have him.

  • That Sheet undrafted free agent we have starting isn't going to help.

FWIW Diehard, we wouldn't have drafted a QB first overall if Taylor was the plan.  I don't think they want to put the same pressure on a rookie QB here that they put on Kizer (after the vet - Brock O was a disaster).  This looks like it could play out like a Danielson 5-6 starts before we put Kosar in to hand off to Mack and Byner for over 1000 yards apiece rushing the football  in 85.  Infante arrived in 86 and opened up the offense.

As frustrating as it was to watch Taylor at times, Roethlisberger threw a grounder to a wide open AB breaking open over the middle.  On top of his 3 INTs, he fumbled the ball to us twice.  It just wasn't a good day to throw the ball for either team.  We'll be indoors this week so no excuses for the QB...

  • alot of things gon be put on the table this sunday.

  • To address the OP...

One game does not a season (or career) make.

    End of story.

    Jesus lord.

  • The biggest issue is that we proved we're still the Browns.  We proved that we couldn't win the game.  That we'd find yet another way NOT to win.

We're still the Browns, and I don't really understand how we're going to change that for the better.  We simply REFUSE to win.  I knew that FG had no chance.  You knew it had no chance.  I told my wife it had no chance and she said, "You're just being negative.  I have a good feeling about this, WATCH!"

    NOPE.

Yeah I had people on Facebook jump all over me because I spoke the truth and told them "Moral Victories do nothing for me".. We still have the worst coach in NFL history.. Then they have the nerve to tell me to stop watching the Browns.. I told them to fuk off and have a nice day.. I don't sugar coat... I just tell it like it is...

I've been writing that we have to learn to win. But learning to tie is a step in the right direction...

... or as Mr. Petty once (almost) put it...

Well some say life will beat you down

I'm learning to tie, around the clouds

I'm learning to tie, but I ain't got wings
Coming down is the hardest thing

Which to me is the reason to view the tie as a positive, even if its a disappointing (to some ) result.   This team was down 21-7 with 8 minutes left in the game.  When was the last time a Browns team came from 2 TD's down (at any point in the game) to force overtime??   I certainly can't remember it off the top of my head.   At 21-7 and just giving the ball up on downs, my thought was this game will end 31- 14.  So for them to come back and tie the game and force overtime was a positive thing and a step in the right direction.

  • Agree completely , Mark.

There were as many positives as there were negatives to take away from Week 1... which may be the definition of a "tie."

Yep. Dwelling on negatives never yiellds a positive result, so I chose to dwell on the positives.

Mark is right...coming back late in the game is HUGE.
