  • It absolutely blows my mind the amount of shock by some on here about this... the conspiracy theories... the Josh Gordon is somehow a victim narratives.

The guy is in no way, shape or form someone you can depend on. How this hasn't been made crystal clear by now for some of you is utterly confounding.

I highly doubt he ever plays a full season in the NFL.

srsly, some browns fans are just too stupid

Tom, the only reason the Browns- and the fans were cutting Gordon this much slack is because it's freaking obvious- when he's actually on the field playing- he has upper level HOF talent. Or you miss that TD he caught against the Steelers?

I've been one of the biggest Josh supporters around here, but enough is enough. Like the guy who's married to the hottest woman around, and she's constantly cheating on him. And "oh gee honey, this time it's going to be different." This was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. You don't get unlimited chances to fly right, and Gordon's gotten more than I can count.

If he did have a relapse- and you don't know that yet- it's just innuendo at this point- he's done in the NFL. But I doubt it was he was "just late for a meeting". Really sad, if he had been able to beat his addictions, he'd have a contract that would be paying him 10s of millions of dollars by now.

Yeah- hindsight is always 20\20 Tom, maybe we should have taken Chris Carter's advice and cut bait years ago.

His talent was never good enough to warrant allowing him to hold the team back. Josh Gordon DOES NOT have anything, anywhere near HOF talent. He will post 1 TD this year. That isn't a lot of talent. AJ Green has 3 in one game. Gordon never did that. Gordon is the dog schidt that gets in between your running shoes. Average talent, belonw average brain, total lack of morals and character. Shame on the Browns for putting all their marbles in his basket.

Again Larry, a man of Faith knows that God put plenty of chrries on the tree. TO hold out for just one cherry is to slap the creator in the face. There are plenty of great WR we could have replaced this average talent with.

Get real Tom. In case you forgot- Gordon is the only WR in NFL history to post back to back 200 yard receiving games. And he did it with crap quarterbacks throwing him the ball.

  • u know he fukked up if hue even had enough. This is a disaster lockeroom goat fuk tho. Any mild amts of positivity we had from last weeks tie is gone

I've been watching the Browns since the early 80s.

Josh Gordon's 2013 season was the single most dominant season I've ever seen from a Browns player, regardless of side of ball or position.

    But that was 2013.

  • night before a game...if that isnt browns football.....i mean damn, we keep it real in clev

I'm curious how many players in the locker room heard the news and said to themselves: "About damn time...."

  • I'm disappointed in Josh.. I staunchly defended him.. Rightly or wrongly so... But if it turns out he was clean.. it's another dumb move.. But , I gotta believe he mustve fukked up somehow.. They don't just cut you for no reason...

The whole training camp situation just seemed... odd.

I have a feeling in the upcoming weeks we'll be hearing a lot of Gordon stories.

I was thinking earlier.. Someone is gonna write one hell of a book down the road .. And I'm sure Gordon will have a chapter all about him.. it's sad no matter how you slice it....

Any player that thinks: "You know, if this was me, my butt would have been cut back in 2014."

Anyone who has ever worked has had a coworker that seemingly can get away with murder... and that too can hurt morale.

    True.

Josh Gordon seems like a likable enough person. He isn't Terrell Owens.

I totally get why so many people rooted for Josh Gordon the person. What I didn't get is how so many Browns fans seemingly threw away any logic regarding him as a member of the Browns.

  • His trade value is even less now they put out  they plan on releaseing him.

Very well said. I've heard others say (many times) "Why bust my butt?"

IMHO, this will be addition by subtraction in the final analysis.

???. AKA "The Hardland of America"

  • It's more disappointing than anything else. Gordon clearly knows "the words to say" but obviously not the actions to perform to act as if he wasn't an addict.  All he has to do is.... not show up to work lit.

At a certain point, Josh has to live Josh's life -- can't force anything.

Yeah- he led the league in receiving yards, and didn't even play in all 16 games IIRC. Ancient history in NFL terms.

Nah, Dorsey and Hue knew exactly what they were dealing with in Gordon- a problem child with rare talent. He got one last chance and blew it.

Yes JG had one great pro bowl season and burned out, after being out of football they gave him a last shot.....he flamed out again, he's gone.

He can go into the car business now parking them, washing them or stealing them. It's basically over, maybe buy his book if it ever comes out.

That move actually brings his trade value up, since it puts a definite timetable for when they need to agree on the deal.

A team could trade for him and his rookie contract, or wait for him to be cut and have to pay more. Possibly significantly more since the interested teams could end up driving the price up.
