wtf do we do at WR?

Don't know why we don't use Devalve more, guy can catch, not a fancy name like N joke on U.
-
these guys are a joke. I dontbthink we have a choice but to bring in pryor, just a body out there...something. This offense is horrendous

Season is Over, Grover. Dorsey has determined the crap floating around out there is no better than the crap we currently have.

I'd look into Travis Benjamin and Demaryious Thomas.

I’d be looking at some young guys on practise squads see if there’s anything long term potential.
Short term moves resulting in losing draft assets are not what’s needed now, we have too many holes to fill

It's a nasty bad situation for a couple of reasons. First, we aren't blocking well enough to allow Baker time to progress through routes, so if first guy isn't open, it's either throw it away or get sacked. What's so confusing is that this OL group was the exact same group during week 1, and we often hear about offensive lines "gelling" as the season progresses, but we're getting worse. Much worse. Pittsburgh is renowned for their ability to create confusing blitz packages, but I didn't see any of that. I just saw Watt lined up on the outside and running free at the dang QB.
Next, our WRs aren't winning their routes consistently. How many times did Baker throw the ball to someone who wasn't open? Everyone knows that open is a bit different in the pros, but we also don't have a single soul who can go up and make a play despite good coverage. It's not going to happen. How many times did Big Ben just play pitch and catch with his receivers? How open were they? Did they appear to be difficult throws? No, not really. Most of them weren't at all.
What are we left with? Nothing good. What did you think about those quick throws to Jarvis Landry that went for about negative 2 yards every time? Did we try anything deep down the seam with Njoku? Did we try our RPO quick slants? Direct snap to Duke? Man, everything seemed so....futile. Today was the first time since Baker began playing that I felt like we didn't have a chance to score on offense or even move the ball. It just didn't feel possible. Did WR have a lot to do with that? Yeah, it did. But unfortunately our OL might have even more to do with it, and that's a harder puzzle to assemble at this stage in the game.

The LINE was manhandled on both sides of the ball yesterday.
Baker could never settle down.
His interception? Jarvis was streaking across the middle and looked open.
We are not there yet, fellas.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports the Lions' asking price would be "at least" a fourth-round pick in exchange for Golden Tate.
Ian Rapoport added that "a few teams" have inquired about Tate. In his age-30 season, this is also Tate's contract year, and it sounds like the Lions are leaking this information to drum up trade interest with no intentions of keeping Tate in Detroit long term. If Tate were to be dealt, the Lions could turn to T.J. Jones at slot receiver between Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones. -
Sometimes you just get the shaft with the injuries, and that's what happened to us in our WR room. I'm absolutely against wasting draft capital for a 30-something dude to play 1/2 the season, and I'm confident Dorsey is too.
Pryror is at most a "meh" to me. There's obviously something about Dez or a team would have scooped him up by now. At this point it's game planning to our strength (running the damn ball) and more effective route planning. After the bye week Higgins should be back which will help a lot. Make WR a priority in the off season whether that's via draft or free agency.

Look Dorsey specifically said in the presser today- he's looking under every rock to try and improve the team. MHO it's crazy to waste draft capital for a short term benefit.

yeah dude, to most of us the same....but he has a pulse. He has decent hands, and we don't have to give anything up for him. It's a no brainer. We HAVE to give Baker something else. Or that kid might start plotting his exit soon as crazy as that sounds given where we were just a few weeks ago. Baker srsly has that wtf look on his face the last few weeks, I don't like it. It smacks of "oh so this is what they were talking about" kind of look.

Prior offered a position with buffalo Prior

Mayfield needs an OFFENSIVE LINE not another receiver. Guys get open when the QB isn’t running for his life.

Just stop- a warm body is not an improvement.

baker has had on some snaps 10 sec to throw the ball and still found no one. WR is a problem.

Tate for a 6th would work for me.
