    Now that the World Series has been played , here is the last year that each of the now 49 major league cities (or market areas) in the US and Canada won a professional sports championship, or for those markets with no titles, the year they first had a major sports franchise there. In other words, it tells how long each area has been waiting for a title. This includes NHL/WHA, NBA/ABA, NFL/AFL/AAFC, and MLB:

      After the Indians had been eliminated,  I had hoped that the Brewers could pull it off for Milwaukee.  I think they would have been a much bigger challenge to the Red Sox.

          Don't know,  but on those bottom dwelling cities,   Vancouver used to have  two teams.....NBA/NHL,  but now only have one.  San Diego use to have NFL/NBA/MLB...but now only has MLB.  Buffalo had  NFL/NHL...and used to have NBA.   So many of these cities are just "one horse towns".

          Las Vegas will only be a one horse town for a short bit....only until the Raiders move there.
