      The Super Ball.

I remember those.  Had many of them.

I'm sure in today's world they would be banned, though.

I usually do this as trivia, but it is too late in the week for that, so I will just give you the factoids that I usually use for the trivia.   So, just remember, these are the anwers.    If you want to play Jeapody and pose the questions you may.....if that floats your boat:

        1. In head to head matchup, the Browns and Chiefs are :  11 wins Browns,  12 wins Chiefs,  two ties.

        2. Former Browns coaches Marty Schottenheimer and Romeo Crennell also were the HCs of the Chiefs.  Also, just fired Browns OC  Todd Haley is a former Chiefs HC.     And Browns GM is the former GM of the Chiefs.....and put together much of the talent that will face the Browns on Sunday.

Also, Barberton, Ohio native John Mackovic is also a former Chiefs HC.

        3. One QB who led the Chiefs in passing for several seasons also played for the Browns:  Hall of Famer Len Dawson....who got one start for the Browns.

        4. Mike Pruitt, former Browns great/good RB  also led the Chiefs in rushing for one season.

        5. Former Browns WRs   Derrick Alexander, Dwayne Bowe, and Andre Rison  each led the Chiefs in receiving for at least one season

        6. One other player who led the Chiefs in receiving, in 1976 and 1977  was:    Say my name:   Walter White.   You're Goddamn right.

        7. Dustin Colquitt, the brother of Browns  Punter Britton Colquitt, is the Punter for the Chiefs

        8. Len Dawson, Bowe, and Rison all made Pro Bowls while members of the Chiefs.    They did not do that as members of the Browns

        9. The Kansas City Chiefs were formerly known as the Dallas Texans, and as such, they won the 1962 AFL Championship, but decided that Dallas wasn't big enough for two teams, so they moved to Kansas City a year later.

        10. While Lamar Hunt was one of the original AFL owners, he did not originally want to be a part of the AFL.  He attempted to purchase the Chicago Cardinals and wanted to move them to Dallas.  Instead, the Cardinals' owners, the Bidwill family, decided to keep the team and move it to St. Louis instead, thus letting Hunt move on with plans to join the AFL.

        11. When Hunt did decide to move his team.....he first considered both Miami and Atlanta.  (they did not have teams at that point...they came later in the mid 60s).

        12. The Chiefs are named after former Kansas City Mayor  Roe Bartle....whose nickname was "Chief"   (I am not sure if he was part native American or not, I believe he was).  Bartle was very helpful in getting the Chiefs to come to his city.

.....however,  Chiefs was not the first name considered for the team.   They had a fan vote....and the name that won the most votes:   The Mules.  But Hunt decided against that name.   So, think about it, we could be playing The Mules this week instead of the Chiefs.

        13. It was also Lamar Hunt who gave the final game of the year the name "Super Bowl".   He named it after the children's toy  "Super Ball" which was a hard rubber ball that you could bounce over houses.   I have not seen a Super Ball in forever....though I believe the actual Super Ball toy that belonged to Hunt's kids is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

        14.  Lamar Hunt designed the Chiefs "Arrowhead" logo.  He did it one day while sitting in a restaurant and he drew it out on a napkin.

        15. Kansas City is the 6th smallest TV market in the NFL, but regularly comes in second on game/season attendance.   Arrowhead stadium also holds some kind of sound record for most decibals.

Having attended the Browns games at Arrowhead, a couple of times I will say this....  They have the best Tailgating scene I've ever experienced. And Yeah, no doubt about the sound system. Haslam "thought" he upgraded it at First Energy- but it still sucks. OTOH, the Chiefs have a speaker system at one end of the stadium that is the size of one of our video boards. It's plenty loud.

And didya know when they play the National Anthem at Arrowhead, when they get to the line and the home of the Brave, everyone screams Chiefs instead?
