I would have put mint sauce on the cabbage if I had any at the time ?

  • Highly recommend some of the "rounds" from this Stonewall, Texas chocolate company which works with Venezuela producers who make some of the best chocolate in the world. This stuff is very high quality and will sooth the losses almost as much as Venezuelan rum. Taken together you will be in heaven (well maybe if you add in one of those multiple Venezuelan Miss Universe winners anyway).??

Sorry, but this doesn't look very appealing.

  • Getting my pork on for this weekend. I do love pulled pork and some slaw for gametime. These are headed to the smoker in the morning

  • GAMEDAY Sunday & Monday I told the wife forget cooking out let's do the oven thing this c-o-l-d weekend and week coming up.

She got a chicken his name is Hue and is making her homemade "CNS" chicken noodle soup with all her homegrown herbs and spices, ummmmmm, can't wait.

Also bought stew meat, stew is next, potatoes, onions, carrots all that good stuff......and the house will smell great.

Cooking can be simply delicious!  😉

  • Jalapeño butter injected turkey breast fresh out of the smoker. Delicious ? I have 6 pork butts still going probably another 2 hours before rest and pull.

The wife's homemade "CNS" chicken noodle soup was delicious, half of a big Farberware pot left. Will snack some later.

We were talking about so many of her herbs that just kept on growing this year, heat, rain and long summer.

  • I'm about to make my famous rum cake for winning game days. Take one and a half ounces of the best Caribbean rum of your choice and place it in a decent sipping glass. Take any cake you happen to have out for 2 or 3 days, crumble it up really good ? in a bowl ? and then put it down the disposal. Drink the rum one sip at a time.?

  • Turkey day fun. Smoked a butter and her injected turkey and also some Disney style turkey legs. Also did a few breasts  plenty of leftovers for the game Sunday

  • Wow some serious turkey grill work there jcam.

Remember too guys & gals out there turkey isn't just for Thanksgiving earlier this year the wife got some great turkey thighs from our meat store.  They are really meaty and delicious and can be grilled, baked, fried and I'm sure other ways.

We had them both grilled and later baked which were delicious!! I may have her put a few recipes together.......

.........hmmmm, getting hungry for a big GAMEDAY weekend.  Michigan v OHIO STATE -and- BROWNS v Bengals.

  • Well GAMEDAY FOOD, there's still some good turkey day stuff left for Saturday -and- Sunday it's supposed to be near 50, might grill some Italian sausage maybe some good red and green peppers and some olives to snack on.....yeah that sounds good!

  • In honor of the visiting team today, it’ll be chicken wings. For dessert sweet Buckeye candy

  • Our kids were at the other in-laws for T-day, but we have them over tonight for a 20+ pounder. Plenty will be left for the game tomorrow.?

    Sounds great!

Holidays and GAMEDAY done just right, even the low key downsized ones. We've been in this house for 33 years this was the first one ever it was just the two of us. It's been so hectic this year.

But we had plenty of phone calls, emails and texts......and relaxation. 🙂

LOL! I spoke too soon. Daughter & her family were exposed to stomach flu of some kind on Thanksgiving so we are just bring stuff over for them. Daughter in law works late and our son is going going with her to visit a friend up from the Coast Guard in Austin when she gets off @ 8pm. Best laid plans as they say. At least a grandson is loyally staying for turkey.?
