It would be hilarious because after all of the scandal and negative publicity before the season OSU decided winning was most important and kept Urban. To go through all of that only for Urban to leave (or be forced out) would be hilarious.

And before OSU fans start posting about how innocent he was and how much of a scam the whole thing was, of course you are. This is the same fanbase that had signs rallying for Meyer with #MeToo phrases. Outside of that fanbase, it was a very bad look.

And no, it wasn't hilarious to see OSU go from one very good, scandal ridden head coach to another. But, with OSU being one of the most fortunate programs in the country it wasn't too much of a surprise.

What scandal?  There was no scandal.  It was just him being too open and honest.  Truly.  He just needed to STFU.

And OSU fortunate?  I guess if you call being able to hire  two outstanding National Championship caliber coaches fortunate, then they are fortunate.

On the other hand, FMU hires had bordered on being as bad as the Browns when it came to naming their HCs.

Uh... the scandal that was all of the news (actual news too, not just sports) for weeks before the season? The one with the OSU coach, domestic violence, workplace...uh... purchases, Meyer deleting evidence, tone deaf press conferences and "apologies".

And yeah, I'd call it fortunate that right after your elite coach is fired (tho they didn't want to) for breaking rules (tho you really got off without much punishment) another elite coach just happened to become available (after creating a mad house at UF that he needed to get away from).

  • from a moral perpective tho, theres simply no comparison. Urb really disappointed me. His dude was beating the sht out of his wife

There actually appears evidence to the opposite (also) being true.

Either way I'm happy he is gone.

If Meyer had not been available, some other elite coach would have come to OSU...and your poor Michigan program would have been no better off.

And, no, it was NOT a scandal......It was merely a Public Relations  faux pas.   There is a difference,   but with your Michigan education I doubt that you are smart enough to know that difference.

Actually, that may not be the case at all.   I don't think any charges were ever brought, were they?  I do know that the woman's own mother disbelieved her.

He ended up being charged with misdemeanor, Disorderly conduct. And a (mutual?) 3 year protection order.

Woody the reason most fans were on meyer's side after all the evidence came out is they were in the middle of where everything was happening like Courtney's mom denying the allegations. Those outside of Ohio never got all the information. They were fed bits and pieces of info in order to shape the story. Much like your deleted evidence retort. That was pushed by a lot of people but the truth is his phone had that setting for years. He sends out recruiting videos and probably thousands of texts per week not to mention what he receives. It was done about 4 years ago to save storage by someone other than urban. Actually by his pr team I believe.

I don't know about you but people at my workplace get stuff delivered all the time especially from Amazon. I've never seen the contents of those packages and the box doesn't have "SEX TOYS" written on it but am I to assume that's what they are.

OSU PR team was absolutely horrible in handling of the press conferences and all the like without a doubt.

I'll agree about the insincere apologies. It was a loaded question if he doesn't apologize he's an arsehole if he apologizes it means Zach hit Courtney. It was not sincere because urban doesn't believe Courtney was abused. That right there tells you he didn't cover anything up because if he doesn't believe it happened there is nothing to cover up.

Zach is a bad person and should have been fired long ago for being a shitty coach and transgressions (that don't include hitting his wife) and urban was suspended because he failed to fire him for multiple fireable offenses. However to act like he covered up for a serial woman abuser is silly if you look into the documents released on your own and don't let ESPiN tell you what to think.

were those texts fabricated then? cause on one set he himself is acknowledging smacking her around. And in another set want urb's wife consoling the woman for getting slapped  around?

if a woman says to me "do u remember picking me up by the back of neck and choking me till a sht myself" and i didnt actually choke her till she shat herself....my response would be wtf?, not "i know, that was such a bad job out me ur so right"...?

No clue. From what I've gathered it was a Shmucked up relationship all around.

Are there time stamps on those messages? Cause those don't line up. "I know!!!" could have been a response to a separate text with messages in between deleted. "I know!!!" doesn't seem to be an appropriate response to that. Hell where is the phone number. It just says a name. I can text my buddy set something up and change the name in my phone.

  • The line is so bad. They didnt even block him on that sack. Way to slow

they put up 135 yards on the ground vs the #1 ranked rush D and if they played Martell and be able to run the rpo which haskins can not do they would have even more yards on the ground so you saying the o-line sucks is just fuking ignorant

  • in fact i would expect to see more of Martell in red zone situations

orly? did u forget this is the "browns" board? lol

im predicting a michigan win this year. Hate to say it but this OSU team IS vastly overrated, you've got to admit that.

Michigan should win. This is not a very good OSU team. Michigan is playing very well.

That being said, I won't be surprised if Ohio State wins anyway.

as i said above and maybe not so much vs maryland but utilizing Martell and the rpo vs ttun will throw in a curveball  shiit man just play Martell the entire game

The rpo doesn't need Tate to be successful. The P in RPO stands for pass. The read-option needs Tate Martell to be successful. Dwayne Haskins actually runs the RPO very well. Because in the RPO the quarterback isn't looking to run the ball he is reading the backside linebacker and if that guy flows with the Run he passes to the slant running behind him. The reason the RPO hasn't been successful for the Buckeyes is the front side of the line is run-blocking yet they can't fire off the ball for fear of getting ineligible downfield. The backside of the line is pass blocking and is not getting up to the second level to get seal blocks. I don't know why people can't understand the read option and the RPO are different things. The read-option is the one where you need a mobile quarterback. Another thing is the RPO was not what JT ran prior to last year here. Last year they ran it a little bit due to Kevin Wilson. Urban Meyer hardly ever ran an RPO offense prior to last year which has been a common misconception all year that that is his baby. when his baby is really the read-option offense not the Run pass option offense. Just for information before calling people ignorant.

it was my understanding these were vetted. So u would think that it would preclude such a scenario where they could chop the texts like that. Vould u even chop texts lije tgat? you'd have to download the texts to an editor right?

No not at all she could have sent that. He could have said what the Shmuck are you talking about. And then they could have got an argument. And then days later they could have had another conversation and one of his responses could have been I know to something else completely different. Then she could have deleted all the messages in between as you can pick and choose what messages you delete on any text messaging app that I know of. I don't know that it was vetted by Brett McMurphy. To me it just seems like she sent him a screenshot and he posted it. You can easily select an option that says show timestamps which would prove without a doubt that these messages were sent in sequential order or at least within the same time frame. So if it were that easy to do to not leave any wiggle room why would she not have done that.

    Edit

I'm not saying that's what she did or that these texts aren't true and that he actually did it. I'm just saying that they don't prove that he did it because it could easily be manipulated in such ways as I've detailed like messages in between could be deleted or they could be a completely fabricated text with a friend that she named Zach in her phone just to take a screenshot.

Again you are just regurgitating a report that didn't have all the information. That setting had been set for years and not by Urban. But yeah you're probably right Urban had messages from 3 years ago, 3 phones ago when he exchanges 1000 plus text messages including videos per week because phones have tons of storage space.

I'm "regurgitating" (which is hilarious, as if you're doing anything different) the report that OSU made. The one that says Meyer talked to a staff member about text messages the day before, says the texts weren't there when they looked, etc.

I don't remember everything from this. But I promise you I read up on it. I'm in the state of Ohio, so I saw whatever you saw. I heard all of the excuses.

It was a PR nightmare for OSU. They came off as chosing winning over all else.

It was a PR nightmare. They were absolutely awful.  You saw the 22 page report not the info they have released since then or you would know that guy told him after he had already turned his phone over to lawyers that "you know there is a way to set your phone to delete messages older than a year". It wasn't urban asking, it wasn't them doing it then as he had already turned over his phone. Someone interviewed by investigative commitee which wasnt included in the condensed report for some reason said they set Urban's phone to that years ago because of storage issues. Again you read the stuff that ESPN reported. OSU has been releasing documents due to the foia like 15 documents at a time since the original condensed report. I recommend you reading into those.

Edit: it came off them choosing winning over all else because of the way the media put its spin on the story.
