Is this really what you've lowered youself to, Steve? McCarthy thinks you throw these words around recklessly and ignorantly...

Ever notice who the biggest complainers are around here? They're the "older" dudes who simply cannot and will not embrace progress.

First of all China is a communist government and they dont like it when religion comes into play,

    OK.

So it differs from you how?

Besides the usual lashing out tell me how you like it when "religion comes into play."

I think you're replying to me and someone else at once.

But how do I differ from a Communist government? Is that what you're asking?

Well, first off, I'm not a Communist government, or a Communist. And I don't mind religion until it makes its way into politics and into people trying to influence the way I live my life, through religion via politics. You're allowed to believe in whatever you want to believe in, but afford me the same respect.

You're acting like a child. The next time you're interested in engaging in something serious, PM me and we'll chat. I'm serious.

  • You're replying to a post Inspecta made, not me, you fcuking moron.

    **************************************************

Well, shithead, I have you know who on ignore, and YOU posted the original post,

and have NOT answered the question, as usual.

Besides, there is little difference. Almost none.

So, you disagree - the Uighurs did NOT flee to avoid religious persecution?

Don't be so stupid - your own link talks about how they fired an AK-47 some.

Maybe at American soldiers? THEN they got caught?

Yeah, THAT kind of "peaceloving, fleeing religious persecution boo hoo a hippo's rear end"

You are SO naive when it comes to worhipping the progressive idol.

Let the rest of us know when you want to stop being an arrogant, dimwitted smart ass and

want to talk seriously about subjects. You know, how you all lamented and whined about?

Let it be known, that YOU ended the truce. Seriously.

  • Moron was actually a real, clinically-used term back in the day. Meaning it actually described a range of IQ scores. As did imbecile (lower score range than moron) and idiot (lower score range than imbecile, and lowest of them all IIRC). So, in retrospect I wasn't as disrespectful as you might have thought.

Well, the f-word in front of the formerly-used clinical term does probably penalize the recipient of the score a point or two..........mere peanuts.

Truces are solidified over time, and every cease fire has a flame-up once in awhile.

I didn't adress you at all initially.

I responded to a statement and you spewed off some Mccarthy stuff.

But how do I differ from a Communist government? Is that what you're asking?

No. Is that what I said?

Well, first off, I'm not a Communist government, or a Communist.

Good for you. So what? I made the point that the Chicoms do NOT like religion and neither do tghe DNC.

I'll amend that to "only if it serves their desire for power."

And yo udon't seem to mind if it effects our lives if it's a leftist change.

Didn't think it was that opaque.

    😉

  • if we can assume all muslims are terrosists, then we can equally assume all christians are terrorists as well. they also go around killing people for disagreeing with their beliefs.

    some intolerant mo'fo's around here.

  • So the Uighurs were engaged in battle against our troops when they were takin prisoner.

Go figure, they are now prisoners of war.

And now you want them freed. wtf

Ha. You really think they had to be engaging our troops to have been picked up? Really? It's as if you haven't been seeing what's been gong on there for 6 years...

Okay. I still think you're full of baloney, though.

    Where did you read that?

Rush wouldn't even have the sack to claim that. He didn't read it anywhere because it isn't true. They were deemed so harmless the Bush Administration decided to let them go...and they didn't do that too often.

  • Here's a good article on the Uighurs:

    Self-Fulfilling Prophecy

The Uighurs aren't extremists--but the Chinese government may change that.

    Christina Larson said:

The Uighurs, like the Turks with whom they share ethnic and linguistic roots, embrace a blending of devotion and modernity. While Islam is a central aspect of their identity, Uighurs don't view the world, or their relationship to Beijing, as an ecclesiastical clash of civilizations. They have plenty of complaints about Chinese government policy, but those grievances aren't formulated or expressed in the name of Allah. Nor do Uighur clerics enforce a culturally conservative outlook. Women in Kashgar wear headscarves, but they also zip themselves about town on motorbikes.

But at the same time, many analysts believe that further restricting religious observance--a troubling likelihood today, as Chinese authorities look for scapegoats in the wake of the riots--could encourage radicalism. A recent Human Rights Watch report makes a detailed and alarming case that China's "overbroad and repressive policies in Xinjiang deepen local resentment and risk further destabilizing the region." Or, as Andrew Nathan, chair of the political science department at Columbia University, puts it: "It's a real dilemma for the Chinese regime: They have long been committed to this regulatory repressive track, but it produces resentment. It produces resistance."
