"[Cohen] made it sound like he had information when he didn't have [it]," Dershowitz said.
He also said the report "does not sound like good news for [Robert] Mueller" and the special counsel's case studying whether Trump had illicit connections to Russia.
"They have not found a witness that can give them a key to the kingdom," said Dershowitz, adding that there is a "weak case" against Trump on the "campaign contribution issue" because he is "entitled" to pay off women as a private citizen to protect his family.
Dershowitz added the other aspect of the case, an attempt by Trump to build a skyscraper in Moscow is not a crime, unless there is a "quid pro quo" aspect that would give President Putin a penthouse or something of the like.

The whole Mueller witch hunt was an investigation in search of a crime. And they found a few. Manafort for unrelated crimes a dozen years ago. Flynn for a process crime of allegedly lying to the FBI which is debatable seeing as FBI agents who interviewed him at the time said he did not deliberately attempt to deceive them. About a dozen Russians were indicted who will never be prosecuted anyway. Cohen for his own separate crimes but also what I think most knew already that Trump had paid off Stormy Daniels for her silence and that will surely be the one Maxine Waters will cry impeachment over this being a possible campaign violation. Mueller has already served this up on a platter for a democrat controlled congress as possible impeachment grounds. And there you have the 49 million dollar and counting Mueller witch hunt. It was all about getting something this president could be impeached over, not any Russian collusion.
I predict it will backfire on the dems like impeaching Clinton backfired on the republicans. During the Clinton impeachment his popularity rose to new heights while the republicans poll numbers went down.The American people spoke up in the Clinton impeachment that they did not want to see a president removed from office over lying about any extramaritial affair and the same will happen with impeaching Trump for paying off Stormy Daniels for her silence. Trump wins in 2020 because the dems will overplay their hand. Instead of trying to govern they will have endless investigations.

I dont know how old u are, but i grew up in the 80's and ive not been able to stand the guy since then.....when he was a "liberal". My parents, life long hard core relugious right....they also could not srand him. U trumpy's think its only because he switched parties and that democrats would have loved him if he ran for them.....which is an order if magnitude non factual.

Well what shocked me the most wasnt the stormy daniels stuff, although it appears he directed his lawyer to break campaign finance laws...but the fact there appears to be an ongoing investigation into continued illicit contact between the admin and potentially russian intelligence. Now trump appears to be trying to play it off as he was just trying to jwep worjing on his trump tower deal.
So he's one of two things, utterly grossly and willfully incompetent cause he was mansplained why that shit had to cease and desist as he bexame potus, for obvious reasons. Or.......he's completely full of shit. Im not really syre whats worse at this point.
