I thought it was stupid that Sashi let him walk.  Although he wasn't great, he wasn't bad, and at the time was one of our better defensive players.  AND he didn't have anyone to replace him with.  And he DIDN'T replace him...we went through the next season with bums playing safety.

Yeah we really missed that 2 INT per season clip he posted in JAX...

Also defended 16 passes... in three years...

Stout numbers backing up one of the best D's in the league... 🙄

    C'mon, man...

100 posts later, talking about my Man Tashaun.    He was much better here, made a Pro bowl.

The thing to do would be to compare his stats to the players the Browns had playin free safety...if we could figure out who those players were.

I didn't say he was great.  But he was a lot better than the guys they played at safety.

The Cleveland Browns safety group is a young unit that saw a number of players receive a chance to play. The position was in transition this past season after the team moved away from their 2016 starters, Tashaun Gipson and Donte Whitner. In 2016, the Browns started off with Ibraheim Campbell and Jordan Poyer as their starting safety duo. Injuries and below average play, however, allowed Tracy Howard, Derrick Kindred and Ed Reynolds II to see the field.

And then compare him to who?   Peppers in his rookie year?

Seems to me that Tashaun measures up pretty good to this.

  • Terrell Suggs to Arizona

  • DL  Malik Jackson to Eagles.

That will hurt a few browns fans wanting to see him in brown n orange

  • Browns rumored interest in C.J. Mosley.. Redskins also want him badly, apparently.

Who would be better, Barr or Mosley?

the listing above has Barr as an OLB,   Mosley as ILB.

If we were greedy we could get both    (oh yea...the bullshit cap business_..

  • Honey Badger to Chiefs 3 years $42m

So, Shobert as the pass MLB.....and Mosley as the run MLB?

Schobert would probably move to an OLB position.

Does he have any history at OLB?

They’re would be a lot of creative things this defense could accomplish with all the depth at LB if we had a player like Mosley.

He was an OLB at Wisconsin, and started his career with the Browns as an OLB before switching to MLB his second season.

  • Tho Mosley did pick Baker's last pass...Ask anybody in Baltimore, they would rather see Joe Schobert in coverage far before Mosely in coverage..check pass pro rankings..get use to a lot of 4-2-5 sets with Wilks..

  • ...a quiet tampering day for the Browns.

I wonder how Perriman is doing?

  • Barr to the Jets

  • lots signings today we were awful quiet

  • So far Big John has sat on his hands and not done squat!.. I'm not cool with this!

So? look at what Gipper posted- at least 100 or so FAs still out there, including several rated at the top. We're still in a "build through the draft mode". Not hand out $50+ million contracts to the FAs that are going to get overpaid. Patience guys, still plenty of time to shop.

  • Barr is a name that jumps out at me.   Especially because he has a skill set comparable to Collins in being an edge rusher.

Williams?  He's a physical, big bodied receiver.  Especially if this front office (like myself) isn't sold on someone like Metcalf in the top 50.

There's been speculation Tyrell Williams is for sure on Dorsey's radar.
