He is now expendable.. Maybe something to shore up the secondary now?  I liked him but never really lived up to his potential...

Not so sure.  You always need depth in your DL rotation.   If we get rid of him, we will need someone to replace him for DL depth.  So why get rid of him?

Unless you really do still plan to go DL in the first round of the draft.

The light may turn on for him elsewhere.... His availability is a concern as well.

Not a big college watcher, but that's what everyone is saying about this year. Lots of Defensive linemen and good quality.  We now have a defensive line that consists of two who are 28 years old(richardson, vernon) and two who are 23 and 24(Oganjobi, Garret)..  Figure the two older ones will be swapped out in a few years when Garret/baker/ward need to be paid the big money.. And hopefully by then the new guys are pulling their weight...

It's how the good teams do it.. Keep rotating out of the expensive older players, by having a group of young hungry players in the wings.

Hope that's the plan at least 🙂

He's not depth at DE anymore. We'll have Smith, zettle, Avery for that.If there's any place on the team for him it's as DT depth. He's not a good edge player.

To paraphrase a particular heroic figure: "Well, that's just, like,  your poor opinion, man."  Do you think Smith and Zettle are better than Ogbah?  And Avery is an OLB...different position.  And if Ogbah has the capability to play inside as well as at DE...then more the reason to keep him for his versatility.

I think Smith is definitely better than ogbah and would have been my top choice to start at LDE had we not been able to bring anyone in. And avery is the long down pass rush specialist. Just because he's standing up doesn't change anything. He'll still be the 4th guy on the LOS and not a 5th blitzing lb'er

Ogbah will be a trade or cut casualty.   Zettel brings more to the base defense and rotation IMHO

Is anyone else out there of the opinion that  both Smith and Zettle are more valuable to this team than Ogbah?

Maybe I am blinded by his second round draft selection....but I don't see it.

O don't think there's any question big bear is better than ogbsh. Zettle probably not, but like tia said zettle can move around more this is more valuable rotationally. Unless they make ogbsh depth at DT....than I think his value increases exponentially.

I think there’s very much a question so I’m out axing people who have not already given an opinion
