This Years Draft QB's

The Browns Board
8 6 595
  • If Murray, Haskins and Lock were being drafted in last years draft alongside Baker, Darnold, Rosen, Allen and Jackson how would they have been ranked coming out ...this was before we seen what Baker can do.

Baker was number 3 or 4 in some people's rankings ....thankful he was number 1 in Dorsey's

  • ... and he was #2 in mine.

Hard to know how the two classes would mesh. So much depends on the interviews and whiteboard sessions that are out of sight to us.

Best guess... a new record for first-round QBs.

    • Murray goes Top 10,
    • Haskins top 15,
    • Locke top 25.

Of the 2018 picks... We still take Baker #1, but not sure the Jets trade up for Darnold or the Bills for Allen, so they fall a little.

Goff probably falls some as well.

I doubt Jackson gets taken in the 1st.

I agree.  Baker would have been just behind Luck.

I was all in on Baker last year.  Had the kid been a inch or two taller, it wouldn't have even been a question who was #1.

Not being a NFL QB traditionalist, I knew Baker was the best choice.  The game is changing.

I was 60/40 Baker ahead of Darnold after Senior Bowl/Combine. Remains the same..Going back, Darnold college career games outweighs Haskins by many. may have mattered to media? Stepping up into NFL game I'd see.. Baker/Darnold/Haskins/Murray/Rosen/Allen/Lock/Jackson...put Allen or several of them in a Cardinal's jersey last season? I can't put it all on Rosen..Murray has escapability that only Jackson & Allen may have when a Cardinal..Allen really surprised me ?..but big Ben's body banging, Allen is not..

If that were the case last year, I probably would have been all over taking Haskins #1.....because I still may have questioned Baker as a total NFL package (the whole height/JFF comparison issue stuff).   Of course, seeing Baker perform with us, that opinion has changed.

As it is though....I still think he has overall more talent to be a pro QB than  Darnold, Rosen, Allen, Jackson.  Haskins is a horse who is tough to bring down (which does not describe Rosen or Darnold), with incredible accuracy (which does not describe Allen or Jackson)   He could become a new Ben R. (without the rape allegations)...as a not really a good runner, but good escapability and mobility around the pocket.

Murray fits into that category of a head scratcher.  Obviously there is the size issue.  He has a lot of Jackson in him....but seemingly is much more accurate. The G man would call him a Black Tarkenton.  Maybe.

  • I’ve heard Lock being graded below Rosen and Darnold but above Josh Allen.

Haskins has 2 major traits going into NFL..1) He performed well behind a OL that at times was not good..I do still question his lower base balance & upper body torking into some NFL throws. 2) Haskins played with 4 pro WR's with NFL game speed..seriously can't hurt at next level..many Giants fans down here hope the card says Haskins..

Maybe he will have had better WRs at OSU than he will have in the Pros?  Is that what you are saying?
