2019 Browns Board Mock: Day 3 - Rounds 6 and 7

The Browns Board
115 12 3.1k

  • At 213, Bengals pick Zedrick Woods, S, Ole Miss

  • The Vikes are looking to catch similar lightning in a bottle with this pick.  Hoping they can go the Steelers route, asking him to lose 10lbs maybe adding to the burst.

At 209 the Vikings select - LJ Scott, RB, Michigan State

  • Thanks, guys... lists are up to date...

... and now more obscure OL from your Commish... or not...

6.24 - PHI... The one area of need as identified by NFL.com that has not been addressed so far in this mock and/or real world FA signings is LB. Looks right based on Ourlads projected depth charts... especially at ILB. Unfortunately the ILBs have been picked over pretty well... so let's convert an OLB...

Sutton Smith (OLB/ilb - NIU)... good size at 6'0 and 233... runs in the 4.6's with a sub-1.70 10-yd split... also 3-coned in the 6.7's. DraftScout has a 4th round grade on him.

    Two picks to go...

  • 6.26 - IND... TBH the team looks well set... even loaded. Inside OL is a possibility here, but another DB never hurts either... a CB or FS in Indy's case. Here's one who is suited for either slot assuming he recovers from a knee injury he suffered...

    Blessaun Austin (CB - Rutgers)

  • 6.41 - KC.... looks like an elusive receiving back is about all they lack and there's a nice one out there...

Darwin Thompson (RB - Utah State)

Here's PFF's take... "Thompson averaged 0.32 forced missed tackles per attempt and 5.1 yards after contact per attempt in 2018, ranking inside the top five in both."

  • This last pick for the Browns was one that I've had my eye on for some time.  A player who sadly was hurt towards the end of this year, but I feel would make a quality practice squad stash to try and further his development.   In reality he might be able to slide as an UDFA but some of the footwork and utility at times makes me think I don't mind dropping some type of pick on this.   Though I feel he does need to work on his initial punch and anchor... there might just be something there in time.

At pick 221 The Cleveland Browns select - Patrick Mekari, OL, Cal

LOL! Could not pass that "thriller" comment up the for a real CB named Michael Jackson who was the next CB on my list. The guy is 6'1" and runs a 4.45 40. 40.5  in. vert. Had a great combine. A perfect pick for a sleeper in the 7th.

how many TE's are you trying to steal from me?? Take Sweeney off the board & sneak in Manziel😎

Happy now-next time try English-Yank Chowder College indeed. ?

  • Buffalo goes for a little extra insurance in case Bryce Love goes to IR with RB Benny Snell Kentucky who I see going around the 4th rd.   Pick 7.11

Buffalo also adds a little flea for the slot in WR Penny Hart Georgia St.  Pick  7.14  NE thrives on these kind of players.

Detroit adds another WR in DeMarcus Lodge from Ole Miss.  Pick  7.15  When in doubt, SEC West.

Tomorrow is my last pick in this draft (Broncos). The pick is so secret that I have not even revealed it to myself yet.??

  • The Redskins still have so many remaining roster holes, they have sent a letter to the Commish to extend this draft 7 more rounds😮.. The guys at PFF have my sleeper jumping up boards. NFL.com has him now ahead of McLaurin/Isabella. Gumby goes back to his alma mater to find a round 4 Emmanuel Sanders in the 7th.. Thee REDSKINS select--WR DIONTAE JOHNSON- Toledo ?
