SATURDAY APRIL 27 UPDATE

Well the ID (Infectious disease) doctor updated me this weel, I was on 3 really bad azz IV meds that is now cut down to ONE scheduled to run through May 24.

That has really kicked my butt, hardly ever online for anything. Monday I see the surgeon should get the GO to get stronger and get outta here, 25 days in and counting down.

Thank goodness my wife is here to guide things along.

They have some interesting plumbing here including this one below my right elbow.

Friday May 24, 2019 day 57 I think in the home stretch I hope.

Well from the hospital and surgery 4/3 to a specialty hospital now in rehab to work out get strong and go home.......by early June I guess.

It's been quite a trip, I got off all the IV meds this Wednesday NO PICC LINE or any IV lines! o

I will try to recap this wild ride soon.

Three hospitals/rehab tons of doctors treatments and of course lots of nurses! Nicole is my nurse tonight.

.......time to lift weights tomorrow.

OMG.....I am not allowed showers yet due to dressings so ALL bed baths! I've had a few I'll tell you later.

Just saw the doctor on 6/5 everything is going well should be out in 2 or 3 weeks..... maybe mid-June.

Day 65 and counting.........

No kidding the last 3 weeks on just one antibiotic a day ran over $17,000. And Ideas on 3 a day for more than one month before.

Wife opened the first hospital EOB and it was $99,000+ and many more to come.

Until I was about 64 I was in great overall shape until I got a tiny open wound, no big deal but it decided to tunnel inward toward my femur about 4-5" not good. Infections and the antibiotics they use can potentially kill you quick.... even with professional athletes

I've done very well all things considered but the rehab can be like boot camp.

Even still for 68 I'm in good shape....... several doctors are amazed for how bad it got.

........... Oh for example take a ruler and picture shoving it r-5" deep in your hip with some nasty bacteria aimed at a big bone. If the antibiotics do not work only surgery is next to cut it out or you're a dead duck.
