Because for the most part Baker backed up his draft status. All he did was set a rookie record for TD passes.....in only like 12 games.

The article was wrote by another GQ writer..GQ's headquarters is based in NY City since 1931.(what could go wrong).The story was wrote just after the draft.(the NY media wanted Haskins).The writer chose to take multipal quotes from Baker & place them in the order he saw fit to get clicks..Baker's agent will handle it.
