  • I wouldn't want a 1 year rental for a high pick.  I don't see how we could sign him, the start signing all the guys we currently have who will be coming due.  We are probably going to lose a few of them as it stands.

The way it looks we are in a "Win now" situation. Coming from a 0-16 to a 7-8-1  we must win the North this season and if that means only having a few guys for only 1 season I don't think the owners will mind, and once you have a few all stars in place everybody else seems to rise up and play better. We did manage to lose some fans after that 0-16 season. and we need to give young fans a reason to be Browns fans.

  • Win win all around. Best of luck to Duke.

Anyone bad mouthing him now is a shit fan.

Yes.. Bad mouthing a man who.."used the media" to get out of Cleveland because he didn't like being challenged.. Fuck him.. I'm glad the sissy is gone.. We don't need sissies on our team...

I gotta admit, in retrospect the whole Duke situation and how he handled it was super jive. If you think about it, trying to trade a player is a compliment of sorts. It means the player is perceived to have value beyond his current digs. How many players actually retire with the team that drafted them? Five percent maybe?

I feel like you hear it from baseball players all the time. “I don’t care if l go 0 for 4, as long as we win the game.” How the hell could Duke not see his value with the Browns?

  • Trade done.  Why do we need to talk about it any more.

More like Oxydol.  Time to clean this up.

Really...the only thing now relevant is who we get with the draft pick we got in trade. And we can't worry about that until next April.

Or, perhaps the only other point of conversation is:  how do the Browns fill the hole left by Duke's departure.  And that has sort of been answered as well:   Dontrel Hilliard, and then Kareem Hunt.  Unless the Browns decide that some waivered RB can do us better than Hilliard (which is entirely possible)

If cincy drops Trayveon Williams, grab him. 6.0 ypc and 66 passes caught in 3 year career including over 2000 r/r to lead the SEC in 2018. 6th rounder with a RB rich team,so there is a chance. 4.4 speed.

  • Duke? I don’t miss him already

  • Well... Looks like Duke's gonna get his chance to be "the guy".

Starting Texan RB, Lamar Miller, tore his ACL vs. da Boys last nite adding injury to insult in HOU's 34-0 loss in an intra-state preseason game that's as real as they get.

  • Duke just moved up on my "sleeper" list for fantasy football.

He is not an every down back.  Not really.  So, he may be "the guy"...but he unlikely will not be "The Man".   He he is very good in his role as a 3rd down back, but he is not the hammer that you sometimes need back there. I guess they will be scouting the waiver wire for a short yardage guy,  unless they think they have in tow already.

    Fair to say?

There will be plenty of short yardage type of backs out there after final team cuts.

i dunno, i think he can easily do heavy lifting...but maybe only for a season or so. He needs to be paired with a short ydage back....then he can easily be the man. We're spoiled now cause chubb is that all purpose workhorse u can run east/west north/south and u have no dropoff.

I agree. I have a high opinion of Duke and think he can damn well whatever he sets his mind to on a football field. Watching Hunt blocking blitzers in the back field made me miss him already.

I recall that game last year when we were trying to run out the clock to seal the deal, and everyone and their mothers knew we were running it, and Duke was the guy running it. And run it he did, first down and cake and ice cream for all.

  • Duke will get injured In The first 4 weeks. Calling it. (I don’t want to call it, don’t want him injured, but he’s never been a consistent guy without getting banged up)

  • He's never appeared to be an every down back to me.  If he's in there for a handful of plays or so,  and ran the ball a few times, he'll have his hand up to be spelled.   And he tends to get dinged in games that he has to run the ball more than a couple of carries.
