Morning after.... So... You think you feel bad...

The Browns Board
12 9 455
  • Someone lost half a million dollars betting on the Browns against the Rams

  • I've probably lost more than that betting on them over the last 50 years. ( humorous sarcasm ).

  • I'm not a gambler in general but if I was I would never bet on the browns. You'd have to have more money than sense.

  • And yet the sports book took a bath on the heaviest bet game of the year even though that $500,000 was the single biggest bet of the year.

See what hype will do..... either way.

  • I haven't felt this awful in a while. I realize it's just a game, and I realize we almost beat a very good team. I think my sadness stems from how virtually everything went our way and we STILL couldn't find a way to win. Most disappointing of all, our savior QB looks downright terrible. He's scared, hearing footsteps, and panicking, and our "offensive genius" Freddie appears to be an actual moron. I don't see how we stay close with Baltimore, I really don't. We're spiraling out of control, and it's not impossible for us to lose every single game before the bye week.

  • The guy must’ve misinterpreted the saying “always bet on black.” Brown is close to black right?

Oh come on, get real. Baker  was running for  his life half the time.  The Browns  o-line was overmatched. And Kitchens didn't  turn into a moron, when his qb was only  getting  2 seconds to  throw.

Could  we lose to the Ravens? Sure. They  looked great  against  KC.

Yeah, he was definitely running some of the time, I guess my fear comes from Baker running when he didn't HAVE to. That comes from running for your life too much and it's extremely difficult to re-learn standing in the pocket. We also don't do a great job of moving the pocket. Our rollouts are atrocious and we don't seem to be great at bootlegs either. Just a strange play calling rhythm where everything seemed so difficult, ya know? Anyway, it would've been nice for the home crowd to experience a little magic. It's not something they're used to and it's just unfortunate.

MHO is it's a little early to do the "woe is us, the sky is falling".  I'll look at it as- hey- we lost the the SB runner up team by 7 with a chance to send the game into OT with less than a minute left. The entire starting secondary didn't play. Two years ago this would have been a blowout by the Rams.

It was obvious why the Rams paid Aaron Donald all that money- unless you double team him every play, he's an unstoppable force. Some of his rocket blasts through the line brought back memories of Michael Dean Perry in his prime.

As Zombo pointed out, we beat the Ravens next Sunday, and we're tied for first. Sure it's going to be tough. From what I saw, the Ravens  D is every bit as good as the Rams. Yup, the Browns have a tough row to hoe coming up. to make the playoffs- They'll probably have to split the next 4 games. 3-4 after 7, and that goal is obtainable.

Pretty much says what needs to be said right there.

  • Nfl has turned into a risky betting proposition.  Way too many flags and inconsistent application of the rules.

  • I just hope the bet wasn't made by one of our players...

As for the above... yeah, Baker's getting "happy feet", but that comes as much from uncertainty about what he's seeing as it does poor PassPro.

And you can see his uncertainty in his throws as much as you can in his feet.
