  • Interesting video.  I'll have to forward it to my good friend who's  a retired  neurologist for fact checking.  He dealt with stuff like this  for 30 years when he was practicing.

Gotta take it with a grain of salt. In the 60s, Doctors were paraded out that said smoking cigarettes is good for you. And 3 out of 4 Drs smoke this brand. There’s too damn many unknowns that go into the workings of the human brain to just say this or that from a distance.

Or, you could watch the video and respond to his actual comment.

The video didn't discuss smoking in the 60's.  If you want to discuss smoking in the 60's, the politics board needs more red herrings!

The only words I take with a grain of salt come from people like you who reflexively distrust anyone who takes it upon themselves to know things.  If you don't like his commentary, you can either get published in JAMA your own results showing a different conclusion to the same situation -- or shut up.

I neither trust or mistrust anybody. I like to see more than one point of view on most things. But Drs do prescribe tons of unneeded opioids which do tremendous damage.  Not all but enough. Just because you’re a MD really doesn’t mean shit. Can you say oxycontin is safe and non addictive?

So are you trying to talk about concussions, smoking, opioids, or career paths?  Or have you forgotten which red herring you're most interested in?

Surely there is a poor yappy fufu dog in there somewhere.??

  • OK guys, here's the opinion of a Board certified Neurologist about that video......

"Yes, everything is accurate.  This doesn't go without saying, because you maybe saw that he is only a medical resident, not yet even a certified specialist, and of course this is one problem with the internet because there's lots of info from non-credible sources.

From seeing Rudolph's concussion live on TV, I didn't see the release of his tonic neck reflex, but I did see after the early seconds that he was for minutes totally unconscious lying on his back totally flaccid, which tells us he had at the least a bad concussion, and I said at the time they should have put him on a backboard to immobilize his neck as a precaution since they couldn't test for neck pain or paralysis, so I agree they screwed up.  I don't know which part of this interested you.  The tonic neck reflex with archer's posture is interesting, and is something we test to make sure it's present in newborns, in whom it's present because newborns as cute as they may be are still functionally brain dead on a neurologist's examination (i.e., there is no provable sign of brain or at least cerebral cortex activity until after a week or two when they myelinate their cerebral white matter tracts enough so the infant starts to fix and follow with gaze, which is the first sign of conscious brain activity."

The only yappy fufu dog on this forum is TA&M's new mascot.  Don't blame other people for your team sucking it up yesterday!

I don't recall blaming anyone for them losing yesterday. I do credit a very high scoring Alabama QB though along with 5 star athletes across the board.

PS-I never have liked that damn fufu dog the Ags have. Give me the original any day of the week. Just a plain ole Heinz 57 mutt dog.?

Actually they've all left. You're the only braindead that will make an appearance from time to time.
