Evolution of Baker

This was a refreshing read for me. In a nutshell, Baker actually had nice things to say about a former nemesis, current Cards and former Texas Tech HC Kingsbury.

This is something l thought was inevitable and necessary for Baker to evolve in the NFL. A sort of “game within the game” that l never thought he quite grasped with his us against the world ideology and social media sparring matches with perceived or manufactured rivals.

That shit gets old fast, and l was getting anxious waiting for him to “get it” that there are more effective and adult ways to show someone up.

And l do dig the us against the world thing. Hell yes l do. I’m dying for a cult leader of a QB who dominates the competition and does it with panache. Baker’s on the right track, but some juvenileness that worked so well for him in the past did need some tweaking imo.

The article suggests he may be taking steps away from being that kind of guy, but it is just one article and one instance. We will see...

  • Well, when you give a young QB shitty coaching, it is hard for him  to evolve into a super top notch QB.

  • I tell you something that concerns me and that's the almost interceptions last week, both of which should have been pick-6's. The first one was off an RPO forced throw to OBJ and the defender dropped it. The second one was some kind of miscommunication with Carlson the TE. The ball was batted down at the line or else it would have gone straight to the defender because Carlson went upfield. I'll not kidding, it would have been an early Christmas present. Both ended up being gifts for us, but geez. We have to be smarter!

  • I think Baker will be ok... The kid is smart and has too much talent.. I think he just needs a little reset and get back to basics... Tighten up his mechanics and study defenses harder in the next off season... Knock off some of the commercials.. He'll be alright!
