    NFL Draft Trade Value Chart

The NFL Draft Trade Value Chart is used by NFL general managers and coaches when making trades on draft day.  https://walterfootball.com/draftchart.php

If a team wants to move up from No. 3 to No. 1, it'll cost them 800 points. That means it'll have to trade its second- and third-round picks (550 + 255 = 805) to make the move.
    Round 1 Round 2 Round 3 Round 4 Round 5 Round 6 Round 7
    1 3,000 33 580 65 265 97 112 129 43 161 27 193 14.2

There are a lot of very similar sites out there like the above one.

      NFL Draft Trade Value Chart

In the early-1990’s the Dallas Cowboys developed a draft pick value chart under the guidance of Jimmy Johnson.  The goal was to assign a numerical value to each selection to use as a general guideline in trade talks.  NFL teams are not required to abide by this chart and are free to seek more or less than suggested in deals.  However, most swaps of choices usually still fall in line with these basic values.

That's the old chart based upon nothing but intuition. It overvalues the earliest picks and undervalues the later rounds. But it's the one I'd want you to use if you are trading up with me. 😉

Kevin Meers reworked the chart years ago at Harvard. He's worked for DePo the past four(ish) years.

This is a good read. https://harvardsportsanalysis.wordpress.com/2011/11/30/how-to-value-nfl-draft-picks/

What are these Trades that you are speculating will happen.....whichever chart you use?

Four first round picks have already been dealt:  Chicago's to Oakland.     Pittsburgh to Miami,   Houston to Miami.  LA Rams to Jaguars.

if standings stay as is? Getting from Browns #12 pick, to Gettleman's #4 pick for the best LT candidate in the draft.. want to move Hubbard or Njoku in deal? Engram can't stay upright either

If they already know Freddie is done here, and they are interested in moving up in the draft, why win today?

              It serves no purpose.

There are potentially two players in this draft that are worth moving up to take.

                  1. Chase Young and 2. Possibly Joe Burrow (depending on his workouts)

Both are luxuries on this team

Not a big issue for the next four years.  It would signal the end for guys like Ward and Joe Show though.   The D will be composed of two big time pass rushers and bargain shopping back 7.

the other issue trading up involves giving away a lot of draft capital.  So your Safety, Oline and TE fix needs to come in later rounds and free agency.

And this all depends on a team actually wanting to trade out of 1 or 2

Not according to our GM.  He drafted a lockdown Corner instead of the DE.

Of course they will. They drafted a Heisman QB #1. And he set rookie records. Then year 2 he sucked

Interesting:  which team had the best set of DEs playing ever?    Some possibles:

                                      Two sets of Vikings

Purple People Eater Vikings:    Carl Eller and Jim Marshall.  One in HOF, the other should be

Vikings:  Chris Doleman and John Randle

Colts:   Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis

Bears:  Dan Hampton and Richard Dent
