Bring on all the witnesses under oath that each side wants and get all documents wanted out by each side as well. The American people deserve to hear it all regardless of party. But that won't happen because obstruction of Congress has not allowed anything and Moscow Mitch is part of it now that he has openly stated he does not want any witnesses and he is in concert with the WH.. And truthfully the Dems should have pursued it all up through the Supreme Court. Whether anyone likes it or not there are some real Constitutional issues involved in the whole mess. And if you catch any witness lying under oath, then prosecute for perjury.
It should be up to the American people to hear it all and make their own decision in Nov.
But he will not be found guilty and this will be a sham of a "trial". Documents and witnesses will be blocked and our right wing banana Republic is intact and getting Russian help again to keep in power. Maduro = Trump. The other side of the same coin.

No, its the Senates job to conduct a trial. The House gathers evidence, draws up the Articles of Impeachment, and votes to impeach. The articles of impeachment is presented to the Senate for trial.
As is often done by judges in regular trials, the Senate can also choose throw the case out.

"The House gathers the evidence"..that is the key. The House gathers the evidence, that is their job and not the Senate's. The House isn't supposed to do a half way job of investigation and then leave it up to the Senate to finish the investigation like Pelosi, Schiff and Nadler are wanting. This case was supposed to be ready for trial. In fact the dems said they already had overwhelming evidence when they voted on the impeachment articles. Now they want more investigation? What happened to their overwhelming evidence they claimed?

They are rigging the election again against Bernie Sanders, just like last time, only even more obviously. They are bringing him out of so important Iowa in order that, as a Senator, he sit through the Impeachment Hoax Trial. Crazy Nancy thereby gives the strong edge to Sleepy Joe Biden, and Bernie is shut out again. Very unfair, but that’s the way the Democrats play the game. Anyway, it’s a lot of fun to watch!
