OT: Quinn's top WR at ND makes his first start for Cubs tonight.

I'm hoping Solon16 will approve of this topic.
After 42 career relief appearances -- 16 this season -- Jeff Samardzija (1-1, 6.29) will make his first start for Chicago in this contest.
The right-hander replaces ace Carlos Zambrano, currently on the disabled list with back spasms.
Samardzija is 1-1 with a 7.36 ERA in three career appearances against the Phillies. He allowed a game-winning three-run homer to Jayson Werth in Philadelphia's 4-1, 13-inning win over the Cubs on July 21.

Wow. He kinda blows, huh?Lumbergh referencing Shep's post to Quinn somehow in 3..... 2.... 1.....

No, blowing would be Drew Henson or Josh Booty in their respective careers. The fact that Sam has made the bigs says a lot, even if not for long.

Yikes.

I gave Samardzija a 2nd round grade before he opted for Baseball... Excellent size/hands/instinctsThink he chose the wrong sport?

He had some nice heat.
Give some more big league experiance and he'll be a servicable player.

LOL! I was just thinking how much more appropriate he'd look wearing a Browns' uniform. You can't overthrow this kid and he's got a wing span that covers a couple different area codes.
