Preseason..is a Joke...lest watch guys play at half speed for a quarter and then watch the backups kill each other. and the NFL wants Top $$$ for the Tickets. Most every Stadium is like that.

If you care about your team and you're a true fan, you're interested to see who wins the back-up spots, how the rookies are progressing, who will fill out special teams, and who is going to get cut.

But I guess the beginning of that sentence doesn't apply to "Steeler Nation."

Steelers Nation was interested in seeing all of that. Hence why it was a nationally televised preseason game. Just becuase 6,000 less fans showed up to this preseason game than show up to every regular/post season game doesn't mean Steeler Nation isn't comprised of true fans. Most people don't want to be out past 1 a.m. on a work night just to see a preseason game that will be broadcasted on ESPN. Way more people showed up than I expected and I am intertested in seeing how many people are at the Browns first home preseason game.

  • I guess all of you missed the huge cheer the Steeler fans put up for our...

    punter.

I remember the ESPN braodcasters saying "Wow, these fans in Pittsburgh reallly know their football".

    Oh, and:

Maybe your pathetic team should actually win something before saying the best NFL team ever (yes, the BEST, six championships would prove so) "sucks". You make us in Pittsburgh laugh at how pathetic you are.

Your Steewuzz still don't have as many championships as the Browns.

What do you think the championship was called before some marketing type decided to dream up the name Super Bowl ?

Dude, as a HUGE Penguins fan and as an equally huge Browns fan, let me say that you couldn't carry Sidney Crosby's dirty jock strap.

  • Besides the fact you have nothing better to go on, here's this:

Cleveland Browns 4-7 .364 in "NFL Championship Games"

While the Steelers are 6-1 in "Super Bowl Games".

Not only do the Steelers have more, but they also have a better winning %.

  • @sidney-crosby said:

What the **** is wrong with you?

Don't ever come to Mellon Arena please.

I've already been there about 15 times over the stretch of the past 10 years. And you're going to feel pretty silly when I tell you that I actually think Pittsburgh is a great city and that I actually respect the Steelers organization and the fans who aren't blathering assholes like yourself. And quite honestly, nothing you say can be taken seriously. You've already pegged yourself as a bandwagon fan. Sidney Crosby? You could've at least gone with Paul Coffey or Ron Francis, bitch.

Holy shit 15 times in 10 years? Wow you're an absolute joke.

Try having Igloo season tickets since 1989.

I'm sorry I have a great amout of respect for the player who basically helped keep the Penguin's in Pittsburgh, I wouldn't expect you to know shit seeing as you've went to as many games in half my life span as I went in two months last season.

Woah, watch out! Big spender comin' through! Having the financial means doesn't make you more of a fan, but your attitude does make you more of an asshole. There are lots of really cool people I know in Pittsburgh who would totally disown you if they knew you shared a city with them.

  • @sidney-crosby said:

    😆

Funny you should mention that. I know about 99.9% of Pittsburgh fans would disown you if they saw you at a Penguin's game with anything Browns on.

Hell, that's as bad as going to a Steeler game with a Flyer or Capital hat on.

    You suck. End of story.

Well this isn't a Penguins forum and there's really no point in arguing with a knuckle dragger like yourself, but I'll be looking forward to not seeing you at the new arena.

oh brownies................in a class all your own.

yeah, the Reigning World Champion Pittsburgh Steelers suck..........they're horrible.........they cheat........their all on roids............they get all the calls............their star players aren't actually stars............etc ad nauseum.

i think i heard this last year...................and the year before...............and the year before..........and the year before...............and the year before..........and the year before...............and the year before..........and the year before...............and the year before..........and the year before...............and the year before..........and the year before...............and the year before..........and the year before...............and the year before..........also ad nauseum.

    just plain classic browns fans.

OK, well let's get real, "World" Champs? Super Bowl Champs, American Pro Football Champs, yes. But the rest of the world doesn't really give a damn. (I could quote Sam Rutigliano here). As much as we love football in this country, and as great as its tradition is, the rest of the world doesn't go along with us. (and by the way, I don't give a sh** if they don't). The propped up Euro Football League even folded. Hell, Rugby has a greater following world wide. It is now an Olympic sport. Along with Golf.

Besides, you know what they say: you may reign, but you do not rule.

Look I'm all for good natured ribbing, but this argument is assinine. Every professional American sport claims world championship for their championship title, the World Series, the Stanley Cup winners are the World Champions, same goes for the NBA. Get the f' over yourself, just because we haven't had one in Cleveland in decades. You make us look like jackasses with arguments that can't ever hold water.

I've been keeping my mouth shut but I had to respond to this comment and the thread in general. FIrst off the preseaon game was played on a Thursday, there is a ungodly amount of construction downtown because of road work and preparing for the G20 summit in September. The Casino just opened as well so traffic patterns are a damn nightmare. I wasn't really paying attention to the stands but it seemed like a good number of people showed up for a PRESEASON GAME. As far as Timmons is concerned the comment above is asinine. Timmons is going to be a monster this year. Look what he did last year in limited time on the field. He closes as fast as Polamalu in the open field, hits heavy and has good instincts. Yes the Steeler fans are going to miss Larry because he was a great steeler but from a on the field perspective Larry was going to be on the bench this year anyway. Why do you think he essentially forced a release/trade etc?

I get it everyone here hates the Steelers just like I hate the Browns but at least make some sense. There are a few Retards around here but I know for a fact there are plenty of knowledgeable individuals here. You may want to make it seem that way.

EDIT: ANd the last i checked our preseason game wasn't blacked out, like yours is about to be....so much for people not buying tickets and showing up for the game on thursday.

Saying that the Steelers are going to miss Larry Foote and that Timmons is not going to be as good or better then Foote might be the stupidest thing ever posted on this site...Did any Browns fans happen to catch how good Timmons played last season and what a huge impact he had on the Steelers number 1 ranked defense...

Well I also have a healthy amount of respect for the Browns and their history. our younger fan base doesn't have that. I say Ignore the Ignorant. If that's ME by all means Ignore me (Though i try to not be ignorant) What goes around comes around , and Karma so to speak cab be a Beeeeotch. So , tread lightly and speak truth.

LOL, we have over 30,000 people show up just for camp in Latrobe. The stadium was full until after the second half when the second and third string was in. The stadium has been sold out for years. And yes, we are spoiled. That happens when you get use to winning games that matter.
