Favre in Deep Doo Doo??
-
Nearly $100 million in federal grant funds intended to support programs forMississippi's poor were spent on cars, lobbyists, concerts, football games and companies run by former NFL quarterback Brett Favre and a family of professional wrestlers, among other charges listed in a 100-page audit revealing the state's largest-ever embezzlement scheme.
Maybe not deep doo doo for Favre, but he definitely got in ankle deep....to the tune of about 1.1 million received of the embezzled funs. The allegation is not that he embezzled the money, but that he was the recipient of the stolen funds. I suspect he could pay it back easily.
He needs to call Jimmy Haslam and ask him who his lawyers were.

Why do these successful players get involved in this nickel/dime crap in the first place? "Stupid is as stupid does"......
Career NFL earnings of players in #4 area code, he has over $137M not counting endorsements and investments.

I wonder what it is that this company of Favre's provided to be paid over a million dollars?
OK, after some search... Yea, he is in deep shit:
Mississippi auditor finds Brett Favre paid from welfare funds for speeches he never gave
I wonder if just giving the money back will be enough to keep him from being charged.

Maybe he didn’t receive the money and they were bogus invoices.

That is not what the audit said. And he...or his spokesperson will not comment about it.

Yes okay and this article claims he paid back 500k -
... and is paying back another $600k on an installment plan.
That's gotta hurt his FICO score... ?
Gotta be some Mississippi state gov't heads rolling in the near future... not to mention an NCAA investigation of MSU.
This is the kind of shit you just can't make up...

Yeah I'm sure Brett is concerned about his FICO score.
Oh brother this all sounds like a good Ol' boys soap opera.

They have already rolled if you consider that several of them have been indicted.
