Minneapolis neighborhood that vowed not to call police in wake of Floyd death is already being tested by 300-strong homeless encampment

Residents though have agreed to “check their privilege” and “protect people of color” by not involving law enforcement to report instances of property damage, according to the New York Times.
That's fucking stupid.

And of course the condition they end up finding themselves in will be through no fault of their own.
It will because of racism, and oppression. Just watch.
I have a bad feeling we can't win this.

I deal with the homeless every day. When your local gov turns a blind eye. They become a problem. There are two substantial encampments within a half mile of one of our businesses. They are more structured than you might believe. They run in packs at night. They put people out during the day to panhandle and feel out local business owners and the other encampment's people. Women from both camps employ the oldest profession in the world.. They have riders, that roll around during the day to spot "opportunity" for the night crew. I have to lock everything down including trash cans securely or they will be gone in the morning. I have high def cameras. A lot of them.. We've all seen "Escape From NY"... We're there my friends..
We are there.
I talk with them every day.. I know who is who. An extremely high percentage are living the life they want to life.
Some are good people.
It's a mental thing, not an economic one.
