Regardless of your Trump allegiance, the tax code is written to benefit the rich and the very poor. It leaves the lower middle class and middle class to fend for themselves.

I don’t think it’s really spin. It’s strengthening his previous stated position that he pays as little taxes as possible and illustrates the inequity of the tax code.
There are probably a good amount of Americans who feel that you should pay as little taxes as possible. In a vacuum, I agree, but we don’t exist in a vacuum. Again not paying taxes is great to say but not very great in practice.

Unfortunately rather than a vacuum we live in an echo chamber. For myself I want to pay as little tax as possible. I'm self-employed and always have been. I pay my own health care I pay my own Social Security even though I wish I'd have been allowed to put it in a private fund, somewhere and I pay all my tax by myself. I take it out of my bank account and I send it to the government. Frankly I think more middle-class people should be forced to do things that way so they can see exactly how much Uncle Sam is pulling out of their wallet to throw into the wind. High powered professionals exist to make sure that people who deal deeply in commercial real estate avoid paying capital gains tax. But personal Federal Income isn't really the target.
Oh maybe your boy Joe will change all that. Maybe they will rewrite the tax code and make it fair for everybody. Except for the left wing billionaires on the west and east coast and the Silicon Valley. You can bet your ass they will still have their loopholes. But the Democrats won't care because they aren't the evil Trump.
