In fact they lose their 5th amendment rights, so they can't dodge the questions and are subject to new charges of they lie under oath. The Pardon means they were guilty, but do not have to pay the price. It does not protect from future crimes such as lying under oath in a court of law.

Yes, we all know how innocent all of trumpy's friends are along the way. Just as innocent as the Circus Barker himself, which is why he has questioned if he can pardon himself. Why would he need to do so? What does he pardon himself for? He has to plead guilty of something to pardon himself for it, just as they all needed pardons for their "innocent" behavior. Shall we start with Trump University to prove what an innocent man can do?
