IT'S THE BIG GOVERNMENT, STUPID

Well I didn't write the article, but Matt Welch has hit the nail on the head here.
Americans want less government. well other than some on the board here they want a total welfare state.

That is not what the last elections said.
Hopefully people come to their senses for the mid-term elections.
Many voted on popularity they really didn't listen to the message.
Come mid terms we should see a real change.

It is just flat out amazing how funny it to listen to republicans trot out the government is the problem mantra from the golden Reagan era.The government sucks ,cant run anything.........unless its the military then all of a sudden between the pentagon, cia, nsa and whoever you else you want to thrown into the mix constitutes the greatest military in the world AND our soldiers get the best healthcare not to mention the post office medicare medicade ssi yeah we pretty much suck. If your referring to Katrina I can see your point.
I assume you're not talking about me, Danamal, because I am a registered Democrat.

I do believe many new voters did just that only to vote for Obama.A classic loser's rationalization.
"Yeah, my guy lost, but only because many who voted for the other guy did so just because it was the trendy thing to do, not becuase they agreed with, or even understood, his ideology."

Sadly, I think there's a bit of truth to that statement.I hope the same record turn-out for the last election keeps happening, but I know it won't. Some people only vote in the Presidential elections and I do believe many new voters did just that only to vote for Obama.
I hope I'm wrong.
And Dan, I never said government sucks. There are programs and activities our federal government SHOULD be involved in (most notably, national security and our armed forces). But many of the other programs they have a strangle hold on should NOT be under federal control.
Of course millions of people voted for Obama, who would never have voted otherwise, because he is black. That is the reality which our ultra liberal friends cannot admit too. Maybe if you socialized with the little folk like I do, you would come away with a different impression. (Not directed at you Hiwaygal).

There's zero doubt in my mind that some (mostly uneducated/unintelligent) black/minority voters voted for the black/minority candidate only because he was the black/minority candidate (though this never worked for Jesse Jackson, if you recall). Birds of a feather often flock together, of course. But race was in no way the ONLY reason people voted for Obama. To insinuate that is plain ridiculous, as is the notion that this swung the election. If you think so, prove me wrong. Not everyone votes on appearances, some people actually care about politics.
Your incredibly limited and rudimentary explanation is valid in some circumstances, though, Jeffro. You voting for Bush, a fellow Retard, just because you're both Retards, instantly comes to mind...

It does not matter at this point on who voted for who, the fact is we have a president trying to push his programs on the american people when more than 60% of Americans dont want them.
Will this be a political death for the big "O" man and if he continues how many of his fellow democrats will he bring down with him?
The big "O" man is nihilistic, maybe that is why he sticks his nose up at the common man, and wants this win at an all costs style of politics.
As an example: it seems that its no longer about healthcare and whats in it or how it can be improved but its the fact that the American public said No to the Big "O" healthcare plan, but he wont listen. He will try to push this through anyways.
