Survey Thursday....1/14/21
-
Here is this week's Survey. Give your answers/opinions: Note: Avoiding Browns/Chiefs....others have traditional threads for that sort of thing.
1. Do you think that Urban Meyer to Jacksonville is a good move......and if it does happen, will it work.
2. Should DeShaun Watson have as much say so in the hiring of the Texans GM and HC as he appears to demand?
3. Along that lines, is there a QB trade you would like to see occur in the NFL this offseason?
4. What do you consider the Best Super Bowl Venue City/Stadium combination (I assume you have all just seen it from TV....unless anyone has actually been to the SB...then tell of your experience)
5. Interesting facts:
NFC starting QBs: Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers. Jared Goff
AFC starting QBs: Patrick Mahomes, Baker Mayfield, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson.
ALL of the NFC starting QBs this week are older than EVERY AFC QB starting.
Do you think the future of the strength of NFL QBs will be in the AFC in the foreseeable future. (particularly with the potential pending retirements of Rivers and Roesthlisberger?)

It happened. It will work too. Jax is loaded with assets. Huge cap space...And Meyer has become a great CEO over the last decade which will allow him to flourish more in the NFL.
2. Should DeShaun Watson have as much say so in the hiring of the Texans GM and HC as he appears to demand?
They gave him the fat contract he’s become the face of the franchise. Yes.
3. Along that lines, is there a QB trade you would like to see occur in the NFL this offseason?
Send a guy like Stafford to a winner. Give Wentz his wish too.
4. What do you consider the Best Super Bowl Venue City/Stadium combination (I assume you have all just seen it from TV....unless anyone has actually been to the SB...then tell of your experience)
Jerry World was impressive when I saw it. SOFI looks great too. Top 2.

It appears so but The new class looks strong let’s see where it shakes out.

1. Do you think that Urban Meyer to Jacksonville is a good move......and if it does happen, will it work.
It could work out. I say about 50/50. Some have done Super: Jimmy Johnson, Pete Carroll (though he was in NFL first); Bobby Ross, Paul Brown. You could say Barry Switzer...he did win a Super Bowl. Others...not so much: Bud Wilkinson. Steve Spurrier, Nick Saban. Jags have to be patient though.....as the team is bereft of much talent.....but the do have a ton of Draft picks....presumably Trevor...plus 10 more picks....plus they have like 80 million in cap space. By the Way...they still do not have a GM
2. Should DeShaun Watson have as much say so in the hiring of the Texans GM and HC as he appears to demand?
As a general rule...hell no. A player should not have say in who coaches or GMs the team. But, apparently the DumbAssTexans are just that....a DumbAss organization. And if they have a Superstar QB...it would probably be good to know that the new HC is on the same page with him.
3. Along that lines, is there a QB trade you would like to see occur in the NFL this offseason?
I could come up with joke trades......see Z's comment (though I am not sure that that may not be a trade that could be made). The talk is Watson to Miami. Though I could see him going to either Washington or Denver. But, actually, it is the QB free agent market that will be more interesting.
4. What do you consider the Best Super Bowl Venue City/Stadium combination (I assume you have all just seen it from TV....unless anyone has actually been to the SB...then tell of your experience)
Almost Everyone says that New Orleans has been the most favorite Venue. I can see that for sure. I can also see Las Vegas quickly becoming an absolute favorite. And the new LA stadium.

Yes.....the AFC could be like it was after Elway/Marino/Kelly came into it. The above 4 QBs.....plus Trevor Lawrence going to the Jags. Don't forget Justin Herbert with the Chargers. Watson with the Texans....for now. Joe Burrow with the Bengals. Can Darnold be included in that group? Plus BR and Rivers on the way out and probably new young QBs there plus in New England.
It may seem that all the good young QBs are going to be in the AFC.
