here's a Brown: Mike Phipps

Again, more in the bust category than the overrated category.

He was on the list of one of the sites I checked....but my thinking was: No one really thought the guy was all that good anyway.....did they? Thus I did not include him above.

Ok, looking at that list at the top, here's what I think...
I'm probably in the minority, but I always thought Jim Kelly was over rated. He threw the ball all over the place and got the Bills to 4 straight SBs. Maybe because he pointed fingers at his team mates for SB losses. He forgot he was going against Dallas, Washington, & the NYG- yeah, the NFC East was very good back then.
In his era, I thought several AFC QBs were better...Elway, Marino, Moon, Esiason & even Kosar. Kelly padded his stats with a hurry-up, and their defense was real solid with Bruce Smith & Cornelius Bennett, etc.

Daunte Culpepper... I remember many thought he was the next big thing... He flopped big time...

Tell that to the Yinzers they were praising him back in the day and the late great Myron Cope calling him Slash.

Well...he was another of those that I didn't think many people thought much of anyway. I mean, whomever waxes poetic or sings the praises about Jay Cutler?
Well there was a brief time out here in SD where it was this big Rivers vs. Cutler rivalry and many Donkey Fans put Cutler as an equal.
-
Definitely my vote on this as He had one amazing year - due in part to throwing the ball up to guys like Moss and Carter (I think).
And Herman Moore too I believe...

Out of that list Flacco. He had that great run in the playoffs and didn't do crap after that. In fact his career was always up and down, and inconsistent and caught magic in a bottle during the SB run which I think was helped by the stupid Bronco defense.
