Quarterback Merry Go Round

Watson makes his request/demand for a trade official:
It kind of made me sick to see some Browns fans want Watson on our team. First of all, the guy has TWO reconstructive surgeries on his knees. He holds onto the ball forever. I don't want that. At all.
My quarterback is on our team. I adored him the second he said he was the man who could fix the Browns, and I stood up for him ALL year. I remember some members of the forum asking me why I was so steadfast in my support of Baker, and if you remember, early on our QB play was a tad iffy. It's incredible to see how he grew and you can just tell people love playing with him. That second Bengals game drove it all home. Man, Baker is so freaking good.
We've got to pay a BUNCH of people, and unfortunately we can't keep them all. But you know what? Next year everyone will be back, and we can worry about the money later. It's going to be very fun, and we're going to be a BITCH to stop.

So, if Zombo is your Yoda, I guess that makes you Obi Wan.
"Obi Wan? Now that's a name I haven't heard in a longtime." Just call me Obi-wine Ken-wood-obi.

I'm going to guess this is not a nod to an old audio name...
Actually, maybe an old amusement park near Pittsburgh.

Bears and Colts in bidding war over Wentz? Perhaps:

It seems that maybe there is only like one QB in the league that may not be the subject of trade rumors. Now, ever Cousins apparently is in on it.

Maybe Mahomes is the only guy not subject to rumors.

Also, one other rumor has been quashed:
In case Jim Irsay's conclusion on Andrew Luck wasn't firm enough for the most hopeful Colts fans last week, his response Thursday slammed the door shut.
Irsay made it crystal clear when speaking with CBS 4's Chris Widlic: Luck is not coming out of retirement to solve Indianapolis' quarterback quandary.
"He's more retired now than he was a year and a half ago," Irsay told Bowen. ... "He definitely is retired and there's really no wiggle room or rumor or anything, as much as people would like to hear that. Believe me, I wish it was true and I was hiding some big announcement ... but that's just not the case."
The hope of Luck doubling back from the freedom of retirement to regain his throne as the Colts' franchise quarterback has lingered in the minds of Colts fans for some time, and the recent retirement of one-year, stopgap quarterback Philip Rivers has only intensified the wishful spreading of rumors. But as Irsay said, Luck is done with the game.
Colts fans would be wise to instead spend their energy on attempting to predict who might replace Rivers -- and leave Luck out of the equation.

I did own a Kenwood way back.... But I like this stuff better, also qualifies as one of my favorite labels... The older vintages had etched bottles, sadly no longer. BTW, if you're ever in Sonoma, the Kenwood tasting room was one of my favorites..

Per this, Jameis Winston has the inside track on Saints starting job for next year:
https://sports.yahoo.com/report-jameis-winston-driver-seat-163830068.html
While quarterback trade rumors and speculation on free agency and the upcoming 2021 NFL draft are swirling, it appears the New Orleans Saints are preparing to stand pat with passers they already know. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport shed some light on the situation during an appearance on “NFL Gameday” ahead of Super Bowl LV kickoff.
“The New Orleans Saints knows this: Drew Brees is set to retire. He hasn’t officially announced it yet, but it’s going to happen,” Rapoport said. “Their quarterback plans for 2021 are this: Jameis Winston or Taysom Hill.”
Hill started four games in 2020 while Brees was on the mend recovering from injuries, and while the Saints did go 3-1 in that stretch his play did leave a lot to be desired. And Saints coach Sean Payton saw enough out of Winston in practice during the season to want to bring the free agent back to New Orleans for a chance to compete for the starting gig in training camp.Rapoport added: “My understanding is Jameis Winston is in the driver’s seat to be the starting quarterback for the Saints next season. He is the potential heir to everything Drew Brees had.”
Winston is one of the most-accomplished quarterbacks headed for the open market. Just 27 years old, he’s already started 70 games in the NFL while completing 61.3% of his attempts and throwing 121 touchdown passes. He also led the league in passing yards in 2019 (5,109). But he’s been prone to turnovers, which was worsened in Bruce Arians’ offense that same year (when he led the NFL with 30 interceptions). In 76 games with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he threw 88 interceptions and fumbled 50 times.

AHAHAHAHA.
Omg, they are so screwed. Wentz was flat out broken this year. I know they're hoping for a "Tannehill-ian" resurrection, but that's some rare shit. Wentz holds onto the ball and that's difficult to fix, and I don't think he's that accurate to begin with. I realize teams like the Bears and Colts have to do SOMETHING, but geez...this wreaks of desperation.

Khalil Mack....or Darius Leonard for Carson Wentz? See this article:
https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl-rumors-lions-asked-aaron-223446117.html
And, apparently, the Lions asked for Aaron Donald in the deal for Stafford. Rams said NYET.

Carson Wentz has been traded to the Colts:
Philadelphia has agreed to trade Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for a 2021 third-round pick and a conditional 2022 second-round pick that could turn into a first, league sources tell and me. -

5. Cowboys
6. Bears
7. Jaguars.....belief is that Trevor Lawrence will be the guy...noting official until the draft.
8. Patriots
9. Broncos
10. Washington
11. Eagles
12. Panthers
13. Dolphins
14. Falcons
15. 49ers

Update scoreboard. Wentz trade means, I assume Hurts is the man in Philly?
-
Eagles pick at 6.. early enough to get another if Roseman falls in love with someone. Hurts is good enough, though
-
Well, if there was a place where Wentz could get back to where he was, it is in Indianapolis with Frank Reich, who he has a history with.
Because man, he was broken last year.

Yes. Especially since they brought in his old QB coach for him.
