Interesting factoids.   With the draft coming up, it is not always the team that drafts you that a QB has success with.   The following  Super Bowl  Winning QBs  won  Super Bowls but NOT with the team that drafted them:

Len Dawson  win with KC,   drafted by Pittsburgh

John Unitas   win  Balt. Colts,  drafted by Pittsburgh

Jim Plunkett  win 2 with Raiders,  drafted by New England

Joe Theisman  win  Redskins,  drafted by Miami

Doug Williams  win Redskins,  drafted by  Tampa Bay

Steve Young  win 49ers,  drafted by Tampa Bay

Brett Favre  win   Packers,  drafted by Atlanta

John Elway  win 2  Broncos,  drafted by  Colts

Kurt Warner   not drafted   win by Rams

Trent Dilfer   win Ravens,   drafted by Tampa Bay

Brad Johnson   win Tampa,  drafted by  Minnesota

Eli Manning  win  NY Giants,   drafted by  SD  Chargers

Drew Brees  win  Saints, drafted by SD Chargers

Peyton  win with Denver,   drafted  by  Indy Colts  (but also won one with them)

Tom Brady  win with Tampa Bay,  drafted  by  New England  (but won  6 with them)

Pre  Super Bowl....I am sure there were a number of QBs who won titles with teams that did not draft them  (from  1936 to 1966).   Haven't done that research,  but I do know one that did it:   Otto Graham won 7 championships for  Cleveland,   but  was drafted by the Detroit Lions.

Here,  correspondingly,  are QBs who took their team to the Super Bowl and LOST,   but it was NOT the team that drafted them:

Daryl Lamonica   went to SB  with Oakland Raiders.....drafted by   Green Bay Packer of the NFL AND by the Buffalo Bills of the AFL

Earl Morrall   went  with  Balt. Colts,   drafted by  49ers

Joe Kapp  went with  Vikings,   drafted by  Washington

Craig Morton   went with  Broncos,   drafted by Dallas......but also took Dallas to a SB

Billy Kilmer  went with Redskins,  drafted by  San Francisco

Ron Jaworski   went with Eagles,   drafted by LA Rams

Stan Humphries  went with  SD Chargers,   drafted by  Washington

Chris Chandler   went with Falcons,  drafted by  Colts

Kerry Collins   went with NY Giants,  draft by  Carolina

Rich Gannon  went with RAiders,  drafted by  Minnesota

Jake Delhomme  went with Carolina,    Undrafted  FA

Matt Hasselback  went with Seattle,   drafted by Green Bay

Jimmy Garropolo  with with SFO,  drafted by New England

The following  lost  Super Bowls  with a team that did not draft them....but were also included in the group above of Super Bowl winners:  Theismann,  Elway,  Favre, Warner, Peyton

Another brief factoid:   the following are  QBs who started Super Bowls,  win or lose,  who at some point  in their career  played for the Browns:

        Len Dawson

        Mark Rypien

        Trent Dilfer

        Jake Delhomme

And, I guess I should note parenthetically:   NO  QB ever drafted by the Cleveland Browns has ever started a Super Bowl game.......YET!

Also,  as far as I know,  no QB ever drafted by these other teams ever started a SB:  Cardinals,  Broncos, Texans, Saints, Lions,  Jags.

(Broncos  3 SB QBs....Elway, Morton, Peyton....all drafted elsewhere).

And, I am sure that mjp  will point out that  Ron Jaworski attended   Youngstown St.

Of course, it is also fair to point out that   both John Elway and  Eli Manning  were immediately traded after their drafts and never suited up for the teams that drafted them,   and they did win their Super Bowls with the teams that traded for them.

Also,  Joe Theismann went to play in Canada and never suited up for the Dolphins.

Joe Kapp did the same thing....played in Canada,  never played for  Washington

Lamonica  never played for the Packers....but did spend some years in Buffalo.
