I am NOT incorrect in stating that the TENNESSEETitans and the ARIZONACardinals have never won a title of any kind. Your interpretation of franchise was not fully explained in the original question. Henceforth, i demand that i be given for credit for a correct answer. Don't tread on Yosemite.

Can't wait until you reveal the other correct answers.

I know that sometimes these franchises play musical chairs and that is why I keep a compilation of championships won '"by city". Nevertheless, the NFL considers the Cardinals going from Chicago to St. Louis to Phoenix to Arizona to be one succesive franchise. Same for the Colts going from B-more to Indy. Same for the Tits going from Houston to Memphis to Nashville (remember, they played a year or 2 in Memphis). The Rams can galavant from Cleveland to LA to St. Louis.

That is the meritorious thing about the retention of the Browns franchise here when Modell tried to move them. He was ultimately told he could move, but the franchise stays. That worked out fine ultimately. Baltimore should have had its own franchise with its own identity all things considered (even if they were sneaking, lying, cheating, stealing bastards).

Given that explanation, your request/demand, is denied. If you don't stop bellyaching I will call in Bugs Bunny to frustrate you.

    Ha, you said Tits.

    Never underestimate my immaturity.

What would a half wit who "LISTENS" to a written post know about rational thinking?? Take another hit and try it again fuzz nutz.

I was actually just quoting Billy Madison because I'm currently watching it, and I thought that quote fit the parameters of the situation quite perfectly.

After you remove your head from your ass, you should probably check that movie out. It's pretty good.

FYI, i have been checking out "Superbad" lately. there is a character in the flick call 'mcluvin'. something tells me that you two share a lot of similarities.

alright. that's my effing lesson for the day. let's move on to the next question.

Is it because I remind you of a guy who has sex with an insanely hot girl while I tell her stories about my Hawaiian escapades, only to be fake-arrested by badass cops who like hanging out with me? Or is it because I remind you of a guy who shoots up police cars in an abandoned parking lot until they explode whilst the aforementioned badass police officers cheer me on?

Or is it just because I remind you of a 17 year old who earns more in two hours than you do in a year's time?

Because I'm fine with being that guy.

  • This isn't the answer to the question, nor a hint. Information only. But in the pre-Super Bowl era there were several championships involving two cities that were closer together than any 2 teams that have ever met in a Super Bowl. And those were the several NFL title games contested between the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions, which cities, per my AAA Atlas US Mileage table are only 168 miles apart.

As long as I am on it, I will give you the answer to this question, since Zombo got it anyway:

The closest rivals in a Super Bowl was that between the Chicago Bears and the Indianapolis Colts, which are 178 miles apart.

After the Cleve./Detroit and Chi/Indy matchup, the next closest geographic rivals to meet were the Cleveland Browns and the Buffalo Bills in the 1948 AAFC title game. Those cities are 190 miles apart.

After that came the Baltimore/New York game in SB III. FYI, Baltimore is closer to NYC than Boston is. (Boston is 216 miles away). Closer yet is NYC and Philadelphia, only 97 miles apart, but teams from those 2 cities have never met in a title game.

Finally, the next closest appears to be the 1962 AFL title game between the Dallas Texans and Houston Oilers, which cities are 239 miles apart.

  • Here is a set of trivia questions for you to try your hand at. Mostly Super Bowl type questions, but also a couple from some other current events:

    1. We know that the New Orleans Saints are going after their first ever title of any kind. Name the other 7 NFL franchises which have never won a title of any kind in their history.

    2. Somewhat related: name the 8 MLB franchises to never win a title in their history.

    3. Name the NFL teams whose record in Super Bowls all time is 0-1.

    4. Name the NFL teams whose record in Super Bowls all time is 1-0.

Note, for me to give you complete credit for a right answer, I am going to ask that all elements of some of these questions be correct!

    5. Who has scored the most TDs in Super Bowl history?

    6. OK, so Kobe Bryant has now scored the most points "AS A Laker". But, name the other people who have played for the Lakers who still have more overall career points than Kobe Bryant does.

    7. What country has won the most medals in the history of the Winter Olympic Games?

    8. Name all the Quarterbacks who have started in 3 or more Super Bowl games.

    9. Who has the most rushing yards in his career in Super Bowl games?

    10. What are the most points scored by the losing team in a Super Bowl game? (who, when?)

    11. What Super Bowl in history matched up the two closest teams geographically?

    12. Only 8 states have hosted a Super Bowl game. Name them.

    7. What country has won the most medals in the history of the Winter Olympic Games?

    Eagles vs. Jets

    Jets vs. Giants

    12. Only 8 states have hosted a Super Bowl game. Name them.

Florida, Arizona, Michigan, Texas, California, Louisiana, Georgia, Minnesota.

The Super Bowl to be held in Jan/Feb of 2012 will be held in Indiana

  • Note: On the answer to #1, I know that some people, particularly those in Minnesota claim the Vikings as having won an NFL title in 1969 because they did win the title of the NFL that year, but, they did NOT win the AFL-NFL Championship game (later Super Bowl) that year. Thus, I do not consider them to be an ultimate champion in football.

Some people (notably Steeler trolls) may question why we would not give a championship crown to the Vikings that year, yet would give a championship crown say to the Buffalo Bills or 1964 and 1965 or to the Cleveland Browns circa 1946-1949.

The answer is simple: you are awarded a title if you won the ultimate championship available to you. If you did not win the ultimate championship available to you, as the Vikings did not, you don't get a crown. The Bills of the 60s went and won as far as they could go under the rules in place at the time. Same for the 40s Browns.

It would have been nice to decide things if the AAFC and NFL had played that "World Series of Football" which was proposed but not held. But since they didn't, each team was awarded a crown. But we can't award one to the 4 teams that "won" their NFL/AFL championships but later lost the first Super Bowl, those being the 69 Vikings, 68 Colts, 67 Raiders, and 66 Chiefs.

  • Question #6 includes playoff points?? Is that correct swami?
