Browns replace field surface

Not sure what this is about, but I found this on facebook. It shows the stadium grass surface being stripped. Not sure what is in store, as there is no story behind it.

Why is it that everytime we get a new GM or Head Coach, they start by tearing up either the stadium surface or the Berea practice surfaces or both?

Maybe this is one of the reasons that they relaying the surface, as it isn't held in great regard as being a good grass surface amongst the players

obviously were going to a dirt track. We played so well in the snow, going to a dirt field will even out our dissadvantages against other teams. We always play well in bad weather games so were gonna make it our homefield advantage. That Holmgren is a pretty smart character

So I guess we're replacing the CBS turf with the old Stadium "turf." Still remember some of those playoff games in the late '80s when they spray-painted the dirt green.

Gipper next time please specify what type of turf it is. Ie. Bermuda grass, Hybrid Kentucky Bluegrass etc. Stop slacking Gipper.

maybe it's normal maintenance on ours, gets packed too tight or something, or something with the heating units or however it works. or maybe they're just padding it a little so our QB can get us through the season.

the purest in me hopes they stick with grass no matter what, to slow down fast teams and to give everyone badges of honor on their jerseys in general.

actually ideally they'd wear brown and orange jerseys with brown pants reg season and all whites in the playoffs, so whatever. but that's just me. today. who know's how i'll feel tomorrow.

if there's a turf that players and coaches like, that can mimic grass and not have divots, holds together well and maybe even make it a little bit softer to land on without making it spongy...who the hell am i to stand in their way.

Turf should be outlawed...too many acl injuries

This is a hybrid. It's a cross of Bluegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensimillia. The amazing stuff about this is, that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt that night on this stuff.

Turf actually means grass, but over the years has been shortened from Artificial Turf to just turf, hence people thinking turf means the synthetic stuff.
