I for one think Jake has some left in the tank but I don't know how well he will preform without a vet wr like Steve Smith. Only time will tell

We all know that rip scherer is an absolute QB rapist but what we dont know is rather manguini and dumbo will let jake do what he does best or will they also try and force him to play "the mangini way" which means making five to ten 3 yard pass attempts a game..

that's why holmgren brought gil haskell in to help daboll run the offense. haskell and holmgren know why jake failed in carolina and they also know it wasn't all of his fault. they know how jake was mishandled. i'm sure they'll put him in a position so he can be successful (unlike scherer and the panthers oc jeff davidson). hopefully jake will limit his mistakes and manage the offense well.
btw, notice how holmgren didn't bring someone in to help ryan out with the d? he only brought in someone (gil) to help with the offense. gee, i wonder why?

Carolina Panthers quarterbacks coach Rip Scherer blames himself in large part for Cleveland Browns QB Jake Delhomme’s struggles last season, reports Mary Kay Cabot, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Scherer said, “We took Jake away from being the guy that he had become, which had gotten him the success he had. It was like trying to stick a square peg in a round hole. I kind of kick myself, because I hate that Jake went through that under my watch.

Well, if that is the way it turns out, so be it. I for one have purchased no stock in Jake Delhomme Inc. so, if he can't do it, and Seneca can, great, I personally don't care.

Besides, Colt McCoy lights it up in preseason and Holmgren gives way to the fans pressure to start the Texas slinger by week four.

i saw this on another board. it was posted a few days ago and i thought it was noteworthy.
Rizzo asked Bernie Kosar about Delhomme's poor performance in practice so far.
Bernie said that he wasn't making excuses for Jake but..."anyone can check down all day long in practice. This is the time to make the tough throws and go down field. You have to practice that now so when you need to make the throws in a game, you have practiced them" He said Danielson used to yell at him all of the time to practice throwing into a tight window or to make the tough square in a throw, or go long. Veteren QBs shouldn't worry about ints on Aug 1st or 2nd.

great article.... explains a lot about Jake's situation. I'm glad this came to surface, because nearly everybody was looking for an explanation for Jake's last season.

I posted this about Rip last winter and some Rip homo almost took my head off... Posted that he was a friend of a friend that knew Rip and what a great guy he was yadda yadda yadda .....
He mis handled Quinn and Anderson here then did the same with Jake in Carolina...
