Matt Roth

I think he knows he is playing for a real contract worth big bucks . It , plus his natural desire to maim opposing players , makes him a shoe-in for a deal with us if he still wants to remain here .
Let's hope so .

I would like to see the Browns sign him to a long term contract.
id like to have this year to make sure he wasnt just a fluke. if he continues off where he left getting after the qb then lock him up. i like the way we're not signing any rediculous contracts before the new regime gets to see how they really fit into the new system

I loved seeing Roth last season, they guy couldn't be kept back once he tasted blood early on - I love to see that. I have a memory of him dancing after one of his sacks, the guy couldn't get enough. Every play he was sprinting to the QB. I hope we get a decent season and that he stays with us under sensible but rewarding terms.

i actually really like the group of LB's we're carrying right now. hate to sound like mangini here but they can do a lot of different things. fits in perfect with this ryanesk D we're putting together. id like to see us take a pure OLB in the top 2 rounds in next years draft tho. this defence isnt built around the demarcus ware type pass rushers. just athletic and smart. really excited to see this D in action. got one of those feelings it could be the surprise of the nfl next year

Seems like a lot of guys were dumping on him in the off-season.
He's a real talent. What happened in Miami was Parcels making an example of him. the guy can flat-out play. We'd be be wise to sign him to a long-term deal before he starts having a career year and becomes a free agent.

I think many fans, including myself, weren't too hip to the fact he wanted to get paid after playing half a season of quality football. You can tell the guy has a lot of talent though and that his attitude and injuries have caused him some issue's up until this point. If he has a great year, like i think he can, everything will work itself out and the Browns will pay the man.

agreed. the last thing new management is going to do is start throwing big money and long contracts based on less than half a season of production. theres going to be a ton of evaluating being done this season, and once its all done some contracts will be paid, and some jokers will get curbed...... and signed by cincy haha

all of those players who were tendered at the conclusion of last season will get nice, long-term deals if they play in 2010 in the same way that they played in the last 4 games last year.

what are we thinking wrights going to get contract wise? id like to see 5 years, keep him signed till he's 30. just not sure what the numbers would look like. are they thinking he's going to be a 10 million dollar corner in a year or two? im just not sure

We should be top 10 in defense. We have solid left and right corner backs and a very improved LB core. If Ward can have a fairly solid year back there, I think we may be on to something. From what I have read on here he looks to be the part of a good Safety. Also does any know the staus of David Veikune, has he made any progression what so ever and will he see the field this year a lot more?
