CLEVELAND -- Another Browns' player has ended up on the wrong side of the law.
According to Cleveland police, 25-year-old defensive back, Gerard Lawson, was arrested sometime after 11 p.m. Saturday on DUI and hit-skip charges.
Sgt. Sammy Morris says, Lawson struck a parked car on West 6th Street and didn't stop. Cuyahoga County sheriff's deputies were in the area transporting a prisoner and witnessed the incident.
They then followed him and made the arrest.
Lawson is being held at the Cleveland City Jail, a spokesperson told Fox 8 News.
He has been charged with driving under the influence and hit-skip.
Additional details were not immediately released.
No one was injured.
The Browns General Manager Tom Heckert released the following statement:
"We are aware of the situation with Gerard and are continuing to gather all the information. Until we have done that we will not make any further comment."

Sad story....but totally preventable, which makes it even sadder.
Lawson was probably going to get squeezed off the team anyway considering recent additions, but this isn't the way this should have ended.

Can't comprehend how these jerks keep making the same mistakes over & over. DONTE STALLWORTHless!

Like peen said he was likely about to be squeezed out anyways but you still gotta hate seeing a player finish himself off in this manner...on the other hand maybe lawson could feel it coming and succumbed to the pressure..the guy is sub par in everything he does on the field and he also singlehandedly dispels the myth that if you have dreadlocks you must be a badass on the field, unlike cribbs lawson is a dreadlock poser...hehehehe
