The injury bug visited the Cleveland Browns in Berea during Tuesday morning's practice, as two players left the practice field with injuries.

According to ESPN, cornerback Eric Wright injured his right leg during practice:

Wright got hurt during 7-on-7 drills about halfway through the Browns' morning workout Tuesday. He was attended to on the sideline by trainers, who put an ice wrap on Wright's leg. He limped to the team's training facility for further treatment. Wright's injury appeared to be to his hamstring.

Besides Wright leaving the field, fans also had to witness second-year linebacker Marcus Benard get carted off the field. According to a tweet by the Plain Dealer's Tony Grossi, Benard had an apparent leg injury and needed the cart to get to the building.

UPDATE: You can also add DE Brian Schaefering to the list of players who left the field with an injury. I wonder if this means the team will be in for a "light" evening session?

look around the nfl, injuries are a part of the game. there is no curse, it's just the harsh reality of playing a physically tough, contact sport. there are enough people in the local (cleveland ) and national media to promote that nonsense. no disrespect intended, but i'm sick of the pessimism.

I guess will get a long look at Haden with the first team Saturday. Hopefully its minor, when hamstrings get tweeked they seem to linger throughout the entire season....lets hope that wont be the case

Not good news, but all teams are having some injuries. Glad we now have some depth at CB.

Yes this is very true, and we were never going to be fortunate enough to go through Training camp and pre-season without injuries just seemed to be going along so nicely at the time or at least none of the bigger name players getting injured so as you heard or cared about it as much. Though does seem like Browns to get one of their bigger name stars fall down each year, so is a bit dis-heartening when this happens specially when expectations are starting to rise the closer we get to opening day.

i agree that things were going along well, but don't forget about the overreaction to hardesty's injury. some guys on wknr just took that and went on a negativity spree. imho, i think we should just wait to see what actually happened to these guys and not assume the worst. it seems like eric wright's injury isn't major. marcus bernard's injury is one to keep an eye on. i hope everybody will be okay.

Cleveland Browns linebacker Marcus Benard was injured during Tuesday morning's practice and taken off the field on a cart, according to Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, via his Twitter account.

The specifics of the injury are undetermined.

The second-year player out of Jackson State came on strong as a rookie late in the year, posting 3.5 sacks -- his season total -- during the Browns' four-game winning streak to end the season.

and don't get me wrong, bro. i hate injuries to our brownies just like everybody else. i guess you just have to hope someone can step up and take an injured players place in a worst case scenario.

Unavoidable work related injuries happen . This ain't soccer . We just get up , dust off our pants , and hit-em again . Or the man standing behind you does . Fact of life .

xxxx , its life in the NFL, but this still sucks .

We need both of them to be on the field. Especially Wright.

Not a curse, all teams have injuries. Unfortunate that there are ever injuries, but they are expected in football. We will just adapt & adjust where needed. Fortunately, we are blessed with substantially more depth & versatility than in previous years. To look at the bright side, we will have some younger players seeing more playing time & gaining valuable experience. In past years, a single injury appeared to be devastating to the team. I don't think that will be the case this year.

As far as the media goes, is there anything they DON'T exaggerate?

What happens, happens & I'll still be a Brown's Fan.

Well, I certainly don't want an up and comer like Benard going down long term, and Schaefering is a damn good backup player and very versatile. The depth would be hit hard on DL.

I've seen Wright at camp before have muscle issues, I think he'll be fine. I would hate to lose our corner depth without seeing the three headed monster in actual games first.

The only injury of concern would be Eric Wright no? And he made it off the field on his own. Pittsburgh has also had it's fair share of guys sidelined and all but a few have returned to the practice field. The guys that haven't were put on Waivers/Injured. Pittsburgh has had a host of hammy pulls. Pouncey missed the first few days with a injured toe. Mendenhall, Worilds, Dwyer etc were all sideline with hammy tweaks. Injuries certainly happen, especially with the heat.

Marcus Benard was showing a lot of promise so its also a bummer to be missing him...fortunately, for once, we have depth at CB this year...but you're right Eric Wright will be missed until he comes back

Wright's been tweeting since, seems pretty positive and he said this "Cmon now! Yall kno me.. Wrighteous!!" so it doesn't seem to serious. Im sure he's reluctant to say anything regarding it due to all the recent twitter controversy. Joe Haden got in trouble yesterday for tweeting about TJ Ward getting fined for his cell phone going off.

LB D'Qwell Jackson is back on practice field, but doesn't look happy. Talking to teammates and pointing to pec. IR last year with torn pec.
